View Full Version : Bed Wetting...

I've been debating whether or not to make this thread. But I decided to.
I am a bed wetter. I have been my entire life. It sucks a giant bull dick.
When I was between 5-10 I used to wear little kid diapers.
Now I'm 16 years old, and I am still plagued by this embarrassing and constant problem. It's nasty for one. I constantly have to wash my sheets.
Sometimes I can go a month without an incident, other times it happens every night for a week. I am so sick of it. But I don't know what to do.
I really don't want to go to a doctor. Besides, from what I've read there isn't really anything they can do besides take my money and tell me what I already know.
This is such a sensitive topic for me and it constantly shames me that I have this problem. :(

It's true that by the time your 18 if you haven't stopped wetting the bed, you probably never will. But there's still hope. You're only 16, and it could still stop.
I didn't stop wetting the bed fully until about a year ago.

You're not the only one who's posted about this. and it's not like it's a character flaw. I still have off and on problems with it. I always wear something when I'm using a guest room or staying at a hotel just in case. I found one interesting video about it and I'm sure there's a lot more to learn from.

My friend used to wet the bed a bunch, and found a way to deal with it.
The way he did it is by not drinking anything between dinner and bedtime. Not even a glass of water. Of course, he went to bed about an hour after dinner. Just try to not drink anything after a certain time before you go to bed. And also "go" before you go to bed.

There must be a way to train yourself into not wetting the bed. Completely empty your bladder right before sleeping every night, then see how that works out.

I dont think so ^^ and the natural metabolism will produce urine all the time.

I understand how it can be embarrassing, but don't bring yourself down about it. A lot of people have bed wetting issues. It doesn't make you ant less of a person.
I think it would be a really good idea if you spoke to a doctor about it. This could be more than just a bad habit. You could have bladder issues of some sort.

just a bad habit
I do not think bed wetting is anything to do with a "bad habit"

The last time I wet the bed was when I was 5 or 6, but the last time I wet my pants, a few weeks ago. We all have our little quirks, it just makes us human.

I completely understand how this feels embarrassing for you, but no one here is going to judge you for something you can't control. I would suggest seeing a doctor, however. You know much more about this issue than me, so maybe it isn't the best option, but if you officially get diagnosed you might be able to find a medical reason or cause behind it, and perhaps even some sort of treatment.

I still wet the bed and have to wear good nights or under jams (pull-ups for older kids) it's something I can't control believe me if I could stop I would. It might just be part of who you are

They have those alarm systems that are supposed to trigger when you're about to wet, so I've heard.
You could also set an alarm for something like 1 AM or so, or in other words, a few hours after you fall asleep. When it goes off, go to the bathroom and then back to bed.
Maybe not a medical doctor, but a shrink?

Don't be ashamed dude! No one is perfect, this isn't a character flaw, its just a small issue that I'm sure will clear up with time.

It used to happen to me all the time, I couldn't stay at friends houses because I'd have to wear drynights and I didn't want anyone knowing so eventually I went to a doctor and he told me to go to a psychologist and it eventually stopped, still happens the odd time but definitely not as much.

Nice courage for posting this! My best friend still wets the bed at age 16 as well. But he takes a drug from the doctor called Desmopressin (DDAVP) it's a safe drug that slows down kidney urine production. He takes it before he sleeps and he always wakes up dry. It's in pill form and he said it's only 9 dollars with his health insurance plan. (He lives across the border in the US). I recommend asking your doctor for a prescription.

I appreciate the replies guys.
It just gets old, ya know? Constantly dealing with something so small gets on the nerves.
I might tell my doctor about it and listen to what he says.
My worst nightmare is of an adult me with a girlfriend/wife having an accident, could you imagine?

I forgot to mention I saw my doctor last week. He said I shouldn't worry about it and that I'm at the light at the end of the tunnel. Which I really want to believe, but I don't see any signs of it slowing or stopping.

Plz dont b embarrassed. I've posted worse....lol.
Ur family physician can help u figure out y u still wet the bed. Have u been through a Trematic incident that u never mentally dealed with? Does it happen more when u r stressed out?
Or , it could b a physical issue. If u have a condition that makes it harder for ur body to hold it perhaps medication could help u.

I have had this problem before and went to the doctor and they can prescribe something to stop it. What I used a while ago worked great. Don't remember what it was called

I'm sorry to hear you have this problem, it really sucks Ik, had it til 14 or 15 or so years of age I believe, and I hope you get over it soon. I wish I could give advice but for me it just went away on its own. Still, know you're not alone and you don't need to feel ashamed. As a kid I've had many 'baths of shame' where I'd lie in a soaking, fruity smelling bubble bath before school with sis jeering at me for bedwetting and sometimes I'd just skip it and go to school smelling like piss :(
I hope you get cured quick
