Justin Beiber is now being portrayed as a poor child who didn't understand the implications of what he was doing and saying. You know, because saying "I take full responsibility" means that you've learned your lesson and that you should be forgiven, right?

This is happening way too much these days. It's one thing for someone older, who was alive during the time of segregation and discrimination, to say things they shouldn't, because it doesn't mean the same thing to them. It's not okay, but it's not done out of hostility, just ignorance. When someone young does it, they can't say that they didn't know any better, because yes they did. We have grown up in a world without that shit, we have no reason to act that way. We've grown up in schools with all kinds of different people, diverse neighborhoods, workplaces, playgrounds, it's nothing to us. So for hi, to do those sort of things, multiple times?
I think it's inexcusable, but what do you think? Should we hold him responsible to things he said as a young teenager? Is his apology and explanation enough?

Huh. He was already a douchebag, now he's a douchebag who made racist jokes as a teenager.

Canada has never done anything bad, so they took all the potential bad they had and forced it into one thing holding to both release and hide it.

Unfortunately that thing learnt how to "sing" and put himself on YouTube...

'Teenager makes racist joke'' Alert the media, he's the product of our own creation. We can't blame the kid for taking a turn to the worse-even in his younger years it was clear that the pressure was just too much.

Sad but true - he is just a product of the media and his record label - just wanting publicity -

Pressure my ass. I'd go with his actions are the result of being a racist idiot, not being under so much "pressure".

I mean come on! He's what, 19 now? And to judge him for what he said when he has just graduated elementary? This whole social media is fucked up these days. I've done some stupid shit when I was younger and to this day I regret it, but nobody tells me I'm bad, because I've changed dramatically over the last 5 years... Yes, it's still bad what he's done, but he was a kid, getting too much attention, etc. Ofc he's still a douche (as I've realised over the past half year), but this is just stupid.

Yeah, I agree. We've all said stupid shit in the past. He's still a complete asshat of course, but I don't think he's a racist asshat.

I wouldn't say that he's racist, he made a joke that in pretty bad taste but I'm sure that he isn't actually a racist. I doubt that he believes white people are superior to black people on the basis of two jokes

He's deff not racist, especially considering the company he keeps (hint: he has like one white friend). Everyone has said dumb stuff and he most likely did not expect this to come back later on. I'm not a fan of him but I think this needs to be forgotten, the past is the past.

He's going to make great friends with Donald Sterling.

I hate Bieber as much as the next person, but digging up that video is just a pathetic witch hunt tactic.

His music, personality, and looks are complete garbage. He looks like an only slightly more masculine version of Miley Cyrus.

Im gonna be honest. I hate Justin Bieber's actions but I've known quite a lot who joke around and say the N word before. I hate it. But he's not the only one who does it. This is the first and last time I defend Justin Bieber.

Why is this more important then people dying in Syria or the crisis in Ukraine? They all have you. You are talking about him, making him more popular, the exact oposite you want to do.

Ugh I hate that kid...

He's just an example of a kid who got a spurt of fame and thought he owned the world. He's in over his head.

He knew what he was doing, it's all staged to call for attention.
