I recently hit 1000 posts...people have congratulated me for doing so, and I was watching my post count closely...
But it froze at 996 and hasn't updated despite me reaching 1000, also, I still have the 500 face.

What's going on?

Ahh, never mind, its fixed itself...but I'm still 4 posts down for some reason...

1) You may have had a few posts removed from somewhere.

2) Sometimes it may take a few minutes to update post count and post faces.

I don't have a specific answer for you as to why; it doesn't seem to have removed any posts. I'd just assume it's a VB glitch which'll fix. And if not, I hope losing 4 posts isn't the end of the world. :P

It happens, sometimes I notice if I've made a few posts in a short span of time that my post count doesn't reflect it. Usually after a few minutes it fixes itself though.

5 posts gets you a blog, and 25 and 50 have no specific milestones.

At 100, you unlock the ability to PM.
At 250, assuming you have 3 months of membership, you can send unmoderated VMs.
At 500, assuming you have 3 months of membership, you can create a social group.
At 1000, nothing really happens.
At 2500, you get the ability to have a custom user title.
At 5000 and 10000, nothing really happens.

I've never understood why you only need 100 posts to be able to PM then 3 months of membership and 250 posts for VMS to not be moderated anymore :lol: sounds really weird, unless it's a way to know who's breaking the rules that early on :rolleyes:

The thing I hate seeing most is people who come on and their first goal is 100 posts before they do anything else and they just spam random threads. That gets annoying too :mad::P

You have no idea the kind of stuff that goes through VMs. It's very necessary to have the 3 months of membership requirement for unmoderated use. For PMs that would be a bit extreme, I don't think anybody would wait 3 months to be able to PM, we get enough grief over having to make 100 posts.

I agree with Mike you see some scary shit go through on VMs compared to what goes on via private message. Especially among new members.
