View Full Version : Faviorite iPod?

There have been many incarnations of the iPod, from the Ckassic to the Touch, from the Nano to the Shuffle.
They are incredibally popular, but unfortunately they are dieing. With the advent of the smart phone, and iPod is no longer needed, sad, but they are during, and fast.
So, which iPod is your faviorite? Which one has wormed it way into your hart(and wallet).
Or do you hate the iPod, if so, what do you like? Generic mp3 player? Computer? Zune?

I don't have an iPod, but if I did it would be an iPod classic. Those just have a really sick design in my opinion.

I have the iPod Classic, I used to have a touch but the classic has been my best friend now for awhile. I find it a lot easier to use and the 160gb storage, sweet baby jesus is amazing.

I only saw one iPod in my life, no kidding.
I don't really see a reason to why keep iPods now. What average person needs 160GB of space for music?? That's more than what I have downloaded in discographies! What, each track is going to be 100MB in size because of lossless??? That's still 1600 lossless, long-duration tracks!
EDIT: I think the classic model is the coolest.
Then again... the Touch does have appps... Which is weird I guess but I'm okay with 64GB w/apps.

I have 2 Nanos and an iPod Touch and they've all been pretty decent. I use my iPhone for all of my music now though.

Android.
I had an IPod Touch once.. But I hated how I had to keep deleting apps and pay 99 cents for each song that I will get annoyed with in 3 weeks

I like the 4th gen iPod touch because of its beautiful shiny mirror back. Although it looks dated and old, it is the most classic iPod.

I had the 4th gen Touch for 4 years before I got my iPhone (which I'm posting from now, I'm in the car :p) and I loved it. I never had any other version.

4th gen iPod Touch was awesome.
But the classic is my favorite from a purely music listening standpoint.

DP's right, the classic did have a much better DAC (digital to anolog converter, a device used too turn binary info into sound)
The touch wasn't as good when it came to sound quality

My first exposure to Apple was an iPod Nano - the generation before the design became slimmer, I think it was third Generation.
Ever since 2010 or 2011 I've been using an iPod Touch and I love that little thing. The 32GB of space are a bit on the low side, but I've already decided to get another Touch(128GB or more) once mine dies - and knowing Apple it should die any day now. I don't care for any of the other models in their their current form.
I think their phones and computers are overpriced trash, but their audio devices? Fantastic all around. I have yet to find an Android App that gets even close to the overall experience of using an iPod - and trust me, I've been looking.
Android.

You realize nobody is forcing you to use the iTunes store, right? And what does having to delete apps(and getting sick of your own music taste) have to do with anything? If you download an app you don't want or need, you will have to delete it no matter which operating system your device uses.
Honestly, I could list a million reasons to dislike Apple and their products, but yours don't seem to make any sense to me.

HA!
You pay 99 cents per song, we pay 99 pence, sounds the same, but with the exchange rate thats like you spending $1.20 on a song!

1) I know I didn't have to. Most of the time I never used the iTunes Store because I was lucky enough to not be able to afford music. Even apps. Which is why I prefered Android because a lot of the Apps on the IPhone cost way more. Youtube was my friend back then.
2) I had to delete apps left and right because of limited space. Where a bunch of Androids nowadays give you the option of Memory Cards.
3) Well I didn't have my IPod Touch but for like three months when I was 12. It ended up getting in the washer. So I don't have much experience.

That was like when I was 12, I think ours may have had a couple 1.20 songs. I'm not sure, it's been a while. I forgot the exact prices then.

I have a current generation iPod touch (blue :D :D :D) and I love it. It's basically like an iPhone without the ability to call or text from a telephone number or connectivity on the road.

I've had the Nano (2nd gen), Mini (1st gen), Shuffle (2nd gen), and Touch (2nd gen) ~ don't own any of them anymore, though. Sold them because I didn't use them and put the money toward my phone.

I never understood the point of having the Touch when you have an iPhone. So for my favourite it has to be Nano. Simple, easy to use, small-everything you could possibly need from a music player :)

I have a 4th Gen Nano, and I love it but after not using it for over a year it doesn't turn on. I'll need to get it looked at

Not everyone has the money to buy an iPhone, a lot of people can't afford them. And iPods are a lot cheaper.

Yeah I know, but when people have both Touch and iPhone it's just a bit silly

Ahh I see, ye that is a bit. But perhaps they have some sort of sentementral value over the iPod, or perhaps its because the iPod has slightly better sound quality than the iPhone, each to there own and what not,

I've had the past 4 nano's and I have to say the 7th gen does beat the 6th but I still love how small the 6th is. Never felt the urge to get an iTouch or iPhone, just need something to play my music. Other than the iPod nano apple can go die in a hole because it's ruined humanity and is completely evil.
These are actually the 2 I have in the same colours, weird. Sexy nanos though.
