Sports?

Ok so one of my friends has been on me lightly about not playing any sports because it's a thing that a guy should do. Is it bad that I don't like sports very much? I play tennis but he said that most guys wouldn't find that very cool?? I am basically acting gay? It had just been on my mind lightly. Please comment. Thanks sorry that this doesn't completely fit in the friend section.

You don't have to play a sport to be...I don't know, "a real man" or whatever bullshit your friend thinks. Just be true to yourself and do what you enjoy doing.

You don't have to like any sports. It`s not a law. None of my close friends (boys) like to do sports and none of them are gay. Besides you are playing tennis, so that definitely counts as physical activity. Don't let your friend force you into thinking you have to do what others consider "cool".

That is ridiculous.
I don't do any sports, lots of guys don't.
There's no need to do sports and act alpha just to fit in,
some people just don't like sports and others do.

As long as you get some form of exercise there's no problem.

My brother and I have been watching a lot of the French Open tennis. Anyone who does not credit tennis as a real sport is just nuts. Those guys and girls are super athletes, very fit. What is not cool about that? Yeah I play sports and I think all sports are cool. Why would they not be? Man you are already playing a really challenging sport. You are cool in my book, and I am damn well sure those tennis players at French Open think you are cool too. Enjoy your sport!

Some of my friends have been feeling the same way. I think it's perfectly normal. Most of my male friends don't play sports and they're not gay. While I am good at boxing, I'm not exactly a meat wall - I'm pretty thin. There's no law requiring boys to play sports. There are plenty of gay guys who do sports (and they do plenty of sports, not just stereotypically "feminine" ones like figure skating), and plenty of straight guys who hate sports.

My dad never pressured me or any of my brothers to play sports. He's into tennis, but that's about it. He used to play tennis when he was younger, but other than that he's not athletic. He's been married to my mom for 23 years. I don't see how tennis is a female sport.

A few of my friends do tennis. Some of them do swimming as well. Those sports don't really have the "jock" image that sports like football/soccer, rugby, basketball, and American football have.

Seriously, whether you play or not a sport doesn't emasculate you or whatever. You know what's the most manly thing of all? Not giving a fuck of what people say. Period.
