Hey guys. I wanted to know if I should chase my dream or just join the Army? The reason I ask is because my family is poor, my grades are bad (All F's), and I put no effort into school. I avoid school school almost everyday. Which is the cause of the F's. What should I do? I go to high school after this summer. I'm worried I'll end up like my dad/mom. My mom tries her very best but due to her low level education (GED) she works at a convenient store. And she's trying to support a family of 3. And my dad is just a acholic. The reason why I would ever want to join the Army is because I won't have to worry about education that much. I'm pretty smart, I got my own website, I built it MYSELF. Unlike a lot of people. I know HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, C++, C#, VS, and some Java. So... yea.

Honestly, this is a decision only you will be able to make. Only you truly know what you want to do.

But I'll say the website thing sounds pretty cool. Not many people can do that on their own.
All I can really suggest is weigh out the pros and cons of each choice, and go with whatever you think will benefit you the most.

Considering how talented you are with programming, maybe you could become a Computer Engineer, but if you think you won't be able to reach college, then joining the army is a valid option. Whatever you do, make sure you pick the one you most like, you pick the most self-rewarding occupation for you. Money is a good factor, and it's really nice of you that you want to help your family, but you should also focus on your happiness.

Do you think if you tried hard you could get good grades?

You could actually put effort into your grades in high school. Colleges only look at your high school years. :)
