I don't talk to people anymore. I sleep most of the time. I haven't showered in three days because I don't care to. I need purpose but I can't find any satisfying purpose to live. I am not considering suicide and I think I will make it through this, but right now I am always depressed and it shows. What can I do to help me through this slump?

You have to get up and start doing things. Even if you really don't want to. The longer you sit and do nothing the worse it will get.

As was said above, the more you give into it, the harder it will be, is there anyone that can give you a bit of support right now?

Force yourself to do things. No matter how much you don't want to, make yourself. A five minute walk, making something nice to eat, going to the shops. Just little things to keep you active.

The more you think you're neck deep in shit (depressed) is the more you'll be depressed. You gotta have the mindset. Anybody can have a great mindset, make a goal. Achieve that goal and keep setting and achieving them. I was like this a few years ago, the only way I got out of it was I had to tell myself I was better than this. And I had to feel it not just know it. So put yourself out there. You're standing there. Make a direction and go forth.

Because once you've hit rock bottom, every movement is a self improvement.

Well first take a shower,it'll make you feel better and fresh ;). Next eat some bananas. As funny as that sounds bananas release the the hormone called dopamine (the happy hormone) so you'll be happy. Because when has anyone ever seen a sad banana????? Lol
They say that masturbation aids in depression recovery and don't feel sad because it will make you feel worse just try to be optimistic and I hope that helps
