Well, I don't no where to begin. I'm 14 years of age, and about 4 months ago I noticed a little acne. not alot at all it was just a little tiny breakout witch was barely noticeable. So I just ignored it. And I no it kept on increasing soon after that. but I just thought "Give it some time and it'll go away". But now theres alot more, It's not bad but If I don' get anything to help it within the next couple months it will get to the point of ruining the way I look :(... I mean I no alot of people get it but I seriously Hate looking bad, I always like to be Clean, Dress nice, and look good. I live with my Grandparents and I haven't exactly explained to them that I want to get medication for it but I don't no how to ask. I wanted to ask you guys anyone out there who was or had Acne at one point, WHAT MEDICATION DID YOU USE:confused:!!!, And how bad was it when you started using the medication and how long did it take to start working and eventually get it away. Please give me advice I just looked in the mirror last night and actually thought to myself I want to stop this before theres to much...:confused:. So please can some of you give me advice and what to get and stuff, so then I can be prepared to talk to my Parents about this... THANK YOU .

I've got a medical book infront of me and it says that the reason you get it is because you have a surge of hormones that stimulates the oil producing glands in the skin and spots start to break out. It says that you should tackle the problem early by using a treatment containing BENZOYL PEROXIDE to reduce the spots. It says that if you use this stuff every day, it will take about 2 months before your skin responds to the treatment. It says to use gel or lotion if you have oily skin and cream for dry skin.
Here are other methods but the stuff above is best:
Wash face gently with warm water every day and don't let your hair get onto your face.
Avoid putting clothing on areas affected. (No hats)
DON'T squeeze spots.
Go without makeup
Dont rub or touch your face too often
Eat healty foods like fruit & veg.
If your stress makes acne worse try to reduce it by doing relaxation sessions etc (or you could masturbate - relaxing and it makes you feel better)
Hope that helps you and anyone else with the same problem.

Wash you're face after each meal. It's a timing thing, nothing to do with the meal. Wet your face, softly lather soap on, and rub it firmly off with a washcloth. Be sure not to leave any soap residue, splash water on your face afterward to make sure you got it all off.

Also, watch you're diet. Lots of soda, carbs (Breads, pastas, etc.) and really most junk food will make ance skyrocket.

If you're going through puberty, the diet won't help too much, but washing the face will.

Only pop zits that come to a head. And if they bleed, let it scab and stay there until you HAVE to pick it off. Seriously, picking it off to early or for no reason makes it bigger and nastier for weeks.

But mostly, leave what you can alone, wash often, and eat right. If it sticks around for more then 3 or 4 months, just have a doctor prescribe something for it.

Benzoyl peroxide is available by prescription only. Washing works well and is most important, but don't do it too often. Over the counter treatments using salicylic acid work for some people.

I got bad acne, I have Proactive, it works pretty good, but I'm too lazy to put it on twice everyday for like 7 weeks, It helps a lot, expecially the 1st step. It does alot.

my uncle developed a product called acnivate. He gave me free bottles and it works well. Uses Face washy stuff, serum that u put on individual dots and a non oily face moisturizer. It works well and all the ingredients are natural.

Should look out cos he is now supplying to america

Also, with all these things, make sure you keep your face and hair clean, as your hair can get oily and give you more acne if it's touching your face.

Someone said that BENZOYL PEROXIDE is only available from perscription but this is not true, at least in my country. I bought some stuff called OXY which was a creamin a red tube that had Benzoyl P in it so look out for it. I bought it in boots. lol

a lot of products on the market contain benzoyl peroxide .. i think it might depend on the amount of it in a product to determine whether it is on the shelf or prescription.

like the clean and clear face wash i use from the supermarket has 5% benzoyl peroxide.
