Hey all so I was wondering what were your thoughts about this year's WWDC? For those who don't know the Worldwide Developers Conference is when Apple will give everyone a preview about ios 8 and OS X. Here's a link if you haven't seen it yet. http://www.apple.com/apple-events/june-2014/

i think the look of OSX was a port of iOS 7 which is good because it look a lot better, but i wasnt to impress with the user features of iOS 8, but the developers stuff looks interesting, only Apple would make a whole new language XD wbu??

The developer part of it was really interesting, I can't wait to start making apps. I also really enjoyed the "Continuity" portion of both OS X and ios 8.

Meh, I'm not a big Apple fan, but I'm not going to bash them.

Personally, I like there design, hardware wise.
But I think they are taking software in completely the wrong direction. They are trying to pander to the masses and please everyone. They want to seem to male iOS and OS X idiot proof, this is there downfall. It makes Apple products to simplistic, they focus on flash, bit forget to add actual functionality, every year they do this.

and no, apple products are not simplistic, OS X is actually more versatile than windows.

i also feel like the features they add are not like block busting features but more of refining touches that you really don't notice but will appreciate.

only Apple would make a whole new language XD wbu?? Not really. Google already had its own language. I already made a language. It's actually pretty easy to make a new language, tens of them pop up each year.

Ahh, you miss understand my point. Granted OS X has more features, and yes, many of them are very useful. But I just dislike the way they present them these day. And I'm not saying Windows is better. Its just as bad. Corporations try to make there OS's more and more simple, whilst adding more and more features. It just gives me the impression that its almost phased out the user. I'm a nerd who likes the nuts and bolts of things so I dislike sinmplifying things.

And if anything, OS X is better than Windows in many regards. But for me, Linux. Free, fast, lightweight, nonties to even corporations who would sell there own grandmothers just to make a profit.

However your right, I do enjoy all the little finishing touches to OS X, they really round them off well.

Where my problem lies, is with the way they treat you. Apple release new versions of there OS all the time, why? Its only so that they can outdate your machine faster. You have laptop for a year or two, and suddenly there's no support. £900 gone just like that.
Look what they did when they switched from Power PC to Intel. Literally every user was suddenly left screwed u less they bought a new Mac. Apple do tend to try and squeeze every penny they can out of Mr and Mrs Average, you have to admit that.

Also, I dislike the look of the new iOS, granted its better than the old one in some ways. Bit the design, I'm not quite sure how to describe it but everything just seems "flat" all of a sudden, and I'm not a fan of the new color scheme added in iOS 7. For me, iOS 6 was the pinicle of touch screen devices. That's why I love the iPod 4th gen so much, however hate the iPod 5th.

Well, at the end of the day, a lot of apple customers (specifically those who will pay lots of money) don't care about advanced stuff and just want to get things done. So yeah, there is a trade off. At the end of the day, apple is a company, and one of their goals is to make money.

Almost all hardware become obsolete very quickly given how fast technology is developing. And so it is only natural that a new version comes each year. Unfortunately, that does mean its very costly to keep up-to-date, so that's why when buying anything, one should consider the future.

Continuity and HomeKit along with HealthKit have the potential to make our lives smarter, more connected, and more manageable. When everything talks to each other, that's when the true IoT will come into being. I'm excited about what Apple is working on.
