Wearing Underwear underneath Swim Trunks (Guys)

I've seen a big trend in which guys often wear boxers or boxer briefs underneath their swim trunks. I don't, but if you do, would you please explain why below? I personally don't see the reason.

Well if you get a boner and you're just wearing swim trunks, it's really noticeable. Even with the netting. Tight underwear can help.

Yeah I always wear briefs underneath ....It hides boners, it prevents sand entering and irritating sensitive skin down there, And when I get out of water I can ditch the shorts and hang out in my undies to soak up sun and dry me up.

most of the swim trunks I've seen have the liner. I don't see the point in wearing underwear under swim trunks.

For my trunks without liner I wear briefs underneath. Usually I do anyway. I like to be supported yet I hate the dry time. I should switch to speedos.

I wear compression shorts under my board shorts for support and also to help hide boners

I do because when you wear board shorts, they get clingy when you leave a pool ;) so if you wear underwear underneath, it stops it. Also, board shorts don't have lining so it feels more comfortable to me to wear something underneath.

I don't like being exposed too much... I feel more comfortable going to a pool with underwear under my swimming trunks, and wearing a dark t-shirt

The lining inside shorts are uncomfortable, when wet the shorts cling to my stuff, if I sit with my legs up ppl can see up my shorts, sand can get to my sensitive areas and irritate,,,,because of all those I wear briefs under my broad shorts whn swimming.

It depends for me... If I'm at the beach... hell yeah I do... Board shorts are a bit longer than preferred and leave nasty tan lines at my knees... so I can just take those off and whoop better tan lines.... and it also depends on my mood... sometimes Im lazy as fuck and say fuck it

I don't see the reason other than being able to hide boners. I have tried it before, it was okay but I don't like my boxers or boxerbriefs getting all wet, plus it takes them awhile to dry.

Correct, maybe some boys cannot accept the fact that they have a penis and it acts normal to any situation.

When I am at the pool I am 14 BTW I see lots of guys without boners and a few with. I look but thats all and he walks away like nothing is wrong and nothing is wrong.
