I have social anxiety which often makes it almost impossible for me to visit the gym, especialy when there are alot of people.
Well there is one thing that always used to bother me but I turne it into a motivation.

I can't be the only one that's annoyed when you go to the gym, and you see all these PERFECT bodied people on excercise machines, and you just feel so awkward and out of place?!
It always bothered me.

But look at it this way;
all the people at the gym started out just like you.
And if you keep going long enough,
you'll be one of those people yourself.

So yea.
That's my motivation.

That's good motivation. You have to start somewhere, eh? I've always been very self conscious of my body image, and being at the gym definitely makes me feel a little uneasy about myself, but I just try to ignore it because like you said, those people were once probably just like me, and feeling the same way.

I don't go to the gym regularly, though. I just run and work out a bit on my own.

You'd most probably feel like that in the beginning,and when time passes you'll realize no one cares about how you look at the gym,since everyone is busy with themselves.

That's a good way to motivate yourself though,part of keeping the get-to-the-gym attitude up is about motivation. Have long term goals and track your progress too,you'll feel great seeing any sort of improvement. Good luck :P

Good music helps too. I prefer RATM, Nine Inch Nails, and Black Sabbath.

Hmm that does kinda motivate me but music and weights do it more ;)

Yup!

Just as the wise poet Drake said: "Started from the bottom now we're here."

It's hard for everybody and nobody was born with a six pack.
