You can't delete your account. You can change your password to something you'll never remember. If it's the username coming up in search results that you don't like, then change it to something else.

I have heard that when you delete accounts, it messes with the database and then everything will eventually become corrupted. On some sites when a user makes a post that the mods don't like, they'll actually move it into a forum that only they can see. Likewise, if a post were to be deleted by either that user or a mod, it becomes "invisible" so that only site staff can see it when they're logged in.

He must have done somehow. You dont just randomly come back to a site you never posted on, 3 years later unless something triggered it.

I suspect that one of the reasons accounts are not deleted is because it would probably clear all the posts. Just imagine an account with 2000 posts being deleted all the gaps in threads and they then no longer make sense

While we could (and used to a long time ago), it's something that for VT's sake, because of post gaps and confusion and whatnot, we've decided to not allow. If someone wants to leave, they can change their username and password to random stuff.


To the OP - if you come back and want this deleted so that you have no posts and you really don't appear in a search, let me know. I recommend changing your username and password to something like "isadoskadma" and just not loggin. But we can't delete it.
