Nope, I've never had a physical. Maybe because I'm from the UK and we don't do that here.

You should be having physicals at least once a year while growing up, then every 2-3 years after and yearly again once you reach a certain age. It's to make sure you are developing correctly as a teenager and later on to catch serious medical conditions early. Regular physicals can often prevent death from cancer and similar conditions as those, when spotted early enough, can often be treated. It can be embarrassing and weird, but many, many early deaths can be prevented by just having regular physicals and blood tests. If you're not having physicals, you are in no position to complain if you suffer from cancer or heart disease, for example, as those WOULD have been caught early with physicals.

The problem is that, in some countries(I believe including the US), physicals aren't free even though they should be. Here they are.

Just, everybody here, please make sure you are having regular physicals! There is nothing more important to your long-term health than getting regular check-ups, it can easily make the difference between dying a painful death from preventable sickness at 40(as far, far too many people do) or living healthily well into your 80s or 90s. In fact, most early deaths can be prevented if you just get to the doctor once in a while.

Just seems to vary - might depend on thier parents being anxious or thier health care package as out health care is free but you can also have paid for health care.

It is not normally done in the UK, however, if you are concerned about your privates, then you can ask a doctor to check it out.

I'm from the US and I get yearly check ups every year doing all of that stuff. It just makes sure that your body is developing correctly and it will catch medical conditions (ex. Prostate Cancer) early.

Preach! I'm in the U.S. and only have physicals when they are covered by insurance unfortunately. However even getting physicals on a less then yearly basis can help prevent unnecessary diseases and aid in the treatment of such diseases. My cousin had cancer but they caught it early on in a routine physical and it potentially saved his life!
