my friend smoking

Guys, I have a friend, he is smoking. I hate his smoke not himself. How I tell him if I hate if he smoking, without make him umbrageous?

it's his choice to smoke. you can let him know you don't like it but I doubt that's going to make him stop.

It's a part of life, people smoke and you're not going to be able to tell them to stop because you hate it. Sure, you can voice your opinions on why you don't like it and how you're concerned or whatever. But at the end of the day, he's going to smoke regardless if that's what he wants to do.

Even though I hate smoking aswell, I don't think there's anything you can do.
It's his own choice no matter how bad of a choice it is,
I wish things like this could be dealt with socialy but sadly I know that you can't bring these things up to people without somehow insulting them.

If he is stupid enough to start smoking there is nothing you can do about it. Ask him not to smoke around you if you hate the smell. Any good friend will respect that.

Just tell him not to smoke around you. Try to help him quit. But don't be pushy. You have to get used to it or dont hang out with him anymore

just tell him straight that you do not like him smoking around you.. don't pre-occupy your mind yet with thoughts like "oh, he's not gonna change anyway" or "he's not gonna listen to me".. what's important is that you were able to speak your mind and you have let him know your side.. start from there and let's see what happens.. keep us posted :)
