If you're taking it soon, or you're thinking about it but are really nervous, let me tell you this: It's super easy if you drive cautiously. Just don't go too cautiously - I got marked down for that.

Here's my score sheet. This for the California DMV, so your state's might be slightly different if you don't live in California:

I have no experience with the American test obviously, but the German one was rather easy when I took it. As long as you do nothing that might endanger the people around you, you're essentially bound to pass. I fucked up and killed the engine at an awful intersection where, after going left, the street was steep as hell and I had to go to the side to let somebody pass - still passed the test.

How did you get marked off for driving too cautiously? What did they say you did wrong? I'm sure they didn't mark it as being to careful.

Anyways, congrats on passing. It's a great feeling.

They had me turn onto a road that was a 40mph zone, but I didn't see any signs and never drove down the road during my practice run, so I just assumed it was 25 and went on my merry little way till I saw a sign :P

So, getting marked off for driving too cautiously? Is that better than getting a "driving like an old man" ticket? :)
