Guys tend to get more boners when the whole sexual arousal thing is new. That seems to be how the brain works - anything novel seems to have a disproprionally high effect compared to anything regular.

Bear in mind you don't have to be conciously thinking about sex to be aroused - much of the brain works at an unconcious and sub-concious level. You can be aroused both by what you see and what you smell.
