When I was a bit stresed once I had a cigarette, I don't know why but it just felt like my go go thing at the time. Nos every time I'm stressed or annoyed I smoke. I don't smoke any other times tho but I'm just worried in case it turns in to an even bigger habbit

Dude, stop smoking, now, seriously. 99% of the people I know who stared smoking have said it was once of the worst decisions they have ever made.
Its bad for you, expensive, so on and so fourth.
Alternatively, when your stressed, go for a run, play a game, listen to music. Just anything that's not self destructive.

Just try to keep it in moderation. Also, I suggest finding different ways of dealing with stress. If you have any hobbies, just do those whenever you're stressed. Or you could talk about what's bothering you with a close friend, or whoever you're comfortable around.
A cigarette here or there isn't bad, but it's best if its only recreational.
If you always smoke when you're stressed, it's almost certain you will become addicted.

If you keep giving in to the desire for a nicotine fix when you are stressed, the more likely it is you will have the same desires again. It creates an automatic behavioral response and the longer it goes on for, the harder it is to break.
If you haven't been smoking for very long just go cold turkey for a while, maybe ask a friend to help you quit while you're feeling stressed. Try some of the other suggestions people have given instead of smoking too.

Stop smoking as soon as possible if not right now. It's an ugly habit and will knock 10 years off your life if things get even moderately bad.

i've smoked about 15 cigarettes over the last few months. it's not easy for me to get hold of a cigarette right now, but i'm concerned that it's going to become easier and i'm going to get hooked. i don't think there's many ppl who smoke who aren't addicted to it. so i'll say the same thing to you i say to me.....Stop! stop now while you've got a chance.

I've smoked a few cigarettes and regretted it every time. I always feel nauseated and dizzy, plus that stinky tobacco smell that sticks to your skin and clothes and is hard to wash off. tobacco really is a disgusting substance.

I used to do this with alcohol, now I'm not only an addict, but I feel the need to get out of my skull on literally ANYTHING when I'm stressed or down. And as far as cigarettes go? If I have them, I'll chainsmoke. If I don't? I'll smoke peppermint tea or something. It's changed from a bad habit to a crippling one in a matter of years.
And yes, it's taken five years to turn from "bad habit, never would do hard drugs, smoke, etc" to "runs my life, would do hard drugs if I could get them, I do smoke, I'm hopeless"
But it didn't take very long for it to become a serious problem. In fact, by the time I was 15, I was beyond help. The only reason I'm sober is because I was on house arrest in a newly alcohol-free house until my withdrawals subsided enough that I could start trying to build a new life.
Which was great until I realized I couldn't cope with life's problems sober, and no one could help me to learn. So it started off with inhalants. Stupid things. I'd go to work with mild acetone poisoning a lot. Then, smoking. Then, I was kind of cut off from cigarettes, so I turned to pretty much any medication or combination of things I thought could get me high. Which almost killed me. So I tried smoking mint tea to make up for the fact that I had no cigarettes. I'm doing fairly well NOW, but that's partially because I've been really sick, and I can't be bothered to deal with the shitty side effects of any of these.
Point being that it started out as a stress reliever, and turned into a clusterfuck of a crippling addiction. Because I pretty much got addicted to getting high.
Get out while you can. I'd you're lucky, you'll just get addicted to the cigarettes, maybe die of cancer. If you're unlucky....

I do smoke. It relieves me from stress. But now I can only smoke in school. At home, my dad forbade me to smoke. Only when I go out. At my mom's I can smoke as long as I got the cigs.

Sorry, haven't really read any other posts.
Now, listen. DO NOT SMOKE, OK? Here's why:
1. It's expensive. Use that money for something else.
2. If you're underaged, and don't have your people, it might be hard to get some. Stress!
3. It's gross. It really is. It's harsh, hot, and have that awful smell.
4. It's addictive.
If you want to smoke so bad - get an E-Cig. It's totally worth it.
If you want toi get "relaxed" - smoke weed. You won't spend as much money as you would on cigarettes. And weed is not addictive, if you're mentally stong, you could handle yourself just fine. 2 times a month would be ok.
But any kind of smoke harms. Don't do it. I used to smoke tobacco, but I stopped, because it's shit.

Nicotine is the must addictive substance known to man-more addictive than heroin or cocaine or any of that. Google it if you don't believe me.
It's not worth it. Right now it's super easy for you: Just don't some again. One day it won't be nearly that simple. So don't be stupid, and make the right choice now.

E-cigs are actually being found to be worse for you then regular cigarettes. But the rest I totally agree with

Of course not. Have you ever tried it? THC isn't addictive.
Weed is like candy, for example. You love how it tastes, you love how it feels, but it won't hurt if you stop eating it. You can stop at any moment, but you want to?
And about e-cigs - it's not even smoke. And all you've read about how it's more harmful than regular cigarettes... It's propaganda only.

It can be psychologically addicting, especially if you use it as a crutch.

THC isn't chemically addictive, however, weed can be psychologically addictive. Like oh, just about everything.
Ah, the "you want to" part? That's totally how you become addicted. Not wanting to stop. Sure, you won't get chemical withdrawals, but you will go fucking nuts if you keep treating it that way.
Also, e-cigs do still have harmful chemicals. Not to mention that they are new, and there isn't a lot of research about them, so while you can't say that it is harmful, you can't say that it's not either.
Lack of proof ≠ proof. It should go without saying, but clearly it needs to be said. And as for the "propaganda"? The exact same thing can be said about your statements as they are fairly deceptive, or at very least, pretty biased.

Oh, this forum has serious people after all!
You're right about weed. You can get addicted to it psychologically, but the same thing goes for pretty much everything in this universe. So it's all about you. Either way, weed is still smoke, and smoke is harmful. So don't smoke, kids.
E-cigs mainly use glycerol and propylene glycol (60-40). The first one is used in pharmaceutic industry, and the second one is used in food industry (known as E1520), as well as cosmetics. Anyways, no one did long term research on these, and how it affects you when inhaled. But for now, it's alot healthier then ususal cigarettes. Won't even tell why, it's obvious.
And yeah, it's better to not do anything.

Not sure what the hell that's supposed to mean.
Agreed.
Also agreed, mostly because I neither know a ton about e-cigs nor do I care to. (I'd rather just be done with it all.)
Agreed.

strong agree with the point about weed being psychologically addictive. I got my first full time job and got into the habit of using it to regulate my sleep patterns (if I don't smoke before bed I stay awake way too late and feel like shit in the morning.) Lately I've been getting the most awesome sleep in the history of ever thanks to the trees, but it's a very expensive habit. you'll burn through cash like a mofo especially if you develop a tolerance to THC. and then there's the risk of being caught and getting a free ride to Concrete U.
on the bright side, I haven't touched alcohol in months. yay for no more hangovers.

The earlier you try to stop, the easier it will be. If you continue to smoke when stressed, you will likely get addicted. Smoking is expensive, generally frowned upon, and one of the worst things you can do for your health. The sooner you stop, the better. If you need help, reach out to those around you, or see your doctor.
I have never smoked, so I don't really know what it's like, and I never will smoke. I have really bad asthma, and even second hand smoke can trigger an attack. Smoking would almost certainly put me in the hospital, so I have strong motivation to never smoke.

Joe is perfectly right...
Financially, healthily and emotionally,
Practicing sports or listening to music are much powerful alternatives than taking a puff from cigarettes which you'll certainly regret when you'll be older.

I know I'm gonna get hate from this, but:
In my opinion, any addiction gives you both pleasure and discomfort. Discomfort because you hate your life when you can't have your drug, but pleasure because when you take it you feel like heaven.
The question is: are you willing to go ~23 hours a day without your drug, dying for a puff, just for 1 hour of pleasure?

Take all of your cigarettes and smash them under your feet, and then try and walk away.
