I'm making this thread for anyone that wants to share their works of poetry. I'll try to keep up with this thread and let you know what I think of your work. :)

For instance, here is one of my poems...

"Lest This Moment Break"

Gripped by perfection
Stage fright it seems
Lit by the moon's embrace
Staring bravely into my soul.

Nothing but a kiss
To seal the night
Lest this moment break,
None ever held so tightly.

Passionately cautious
Til' dawn do us part
We reach for embrace
And fear of nothing.

Dawn breaking, shines elegant
Wake us in a dimly lit corridor
Light rises
Just over the windowsill.

Universe

Up above
Brightly shining
yet never attended
The wind blows not
upon its surface
our galaxy
hidden.

I suck at poetry, but here goes.

My dog is not small.
I like Oreos and chips.
Beat this haiku bitch.

Silent Night beget
Laying in the Silent Breeze
Forgotten Beauty

A haiku I wrote after laying outside at night.

I hate poetry
because school forced me to write it
and killed it for me

I wrote this one last year for all the people who have taught me some or the other valuable lesson in life.

An Ode to Teachers
What are you to me?
A guiding light swathed in fog,
A precipice afore the treacherous bog,
A fire sans spite and scorch-
The self-consuming perpetual torch,
Etched in silver and gilded bold,
Nor name nor face but a purpose weighing gold.

What are you to me?
A pillar standing firm in quicksand,
Alike on the head and shoulder, a guiding hand.
An island amidst the stormy ocean,
A leafy shelter under the sweltering sun.

What are you to me?
Are you a memory to last or fade?
Some love, some respect, some mock and some evade,
Oh what are you not to me?
I know not
For words or thanks cannot express the glee,
With which I bow to thee.

faltering, falling blindly
Lost in our oceanic Minds
We find Ourselves nowhere
Unsure what's Next, or if we Care.

Dispite our Losses, we Vanish
famished from Defeat we know
What is to come of this
In Anger and Impurity, we lose Ourselves.

This has a lot of meaning. I can see it in the way you write. You are trying to say how we say we don't like them but without them knowledge couldn't be passed onto us. We wouldn't be able to live the lives we have now. Really good poem.

Maria on the Seas

the ocean waves lie in your eyes;
overwhelmed by day
silent by night
Maria, sweet Maria
washing the shore with your gaze
a pale blue haze
lean closer now, let me see
Maria, sweet Maria
what a wonder you shall be

Thanks. Its nice that I could send the meaning across to you. I worried it may sound too wordy and so, pointless.

We are dolls
We sew on our smiles
With the liars thread
But behind the stiches
And the glass eyes
Lies the empty spirit
Of broken wishes

A living hell
hell has frozen over everything's been said and done
in thee end it seems i've forsaken everyone
at night I pray I wont ever see the sun
a heavy mist and fog so thick
it seems as darkness finally won

thx
feeling kinda down right now wrote some poems kinda sad but yeah

thee end
dont touch me I hate you
im though im done
this worlds not met
for me I hate everyone
living this way just isn't fun
im sorry im sorry I always am
this hatred inside of of me
always wins
im scared im scared
and I dont know why
sometimes I just want to die

im not done with this one but i cant figure out how to finish it or what to name it

tears stream down my blood stained
wrist as I once again try to exscape this mist
thee end is near to close not to see or to hear
I cant stand the way I look in the mirror
everyday is filled with endless anxiety and fear

Love and Nature- Free verse

Love is like the rain,
because although when in the clouds,
the droplets may fall from the sky as rain,
they continue on for the chance of
forming a beautiful crystal snowflake

Love is like the trees,
because although some die before
their prime, others live on for thousands
of years in harmony, and people gather
around and stare in awe at their beauty

Love is like the sun and earth,
because although the sun can not get
too close to earth, it still provides her
with sunlight, and energy, and anything
she needs to get through another day.

Love is like the dirt
because although it gets stepped on
everyday, it still provides homes for other
animals, and it provides plants what they
need to to grow and survive

Love is like nature
because too many times, people don't take
the time to appreciate it all of it,
but if we stopped and looked around,
we'd see how beautiful it really is.

This is in the very early stages so if you have any suggestions let me know :D
