Is there anyone here that is at least considering joining their country's armed forces? If so, what branch are you planning on serving in, and what you wish to serve as.
I plan on joining the United States Marine Corps. I'm hoping my M.O.S will be either 1802 (M1A1 Abrams Tank Officer) or as a 0302 (Infantry Officer).

I leave on July 16th for Navy boot camp. I'll be a nuclear machinist's mate!

I would like to join the U.S.M.C Reserves. I don't have a certain M.O.S in mind. I'll probably just end up being an infantry grunt.

I never want to go into the forces. I don't care how much I love or hate my country. I don't care how much you pay me, I don't care how much I would enjoy the job. I am not getting shot at, and being a lap dog for the government for a living. Perhaps I'm just a coward but that's me.

No. No no no, no no, no. No. Never. Absolutely not. Nuh-uh. No way.
No offense, but I'd rather not risk my life for, y'know, an oil company or weapons manufacturing corporation.

I find it funny how people post about joining the military. If anyone has any questions on joining the military feel free to contact me.

Well I mean, if there's weren't any cowards we wouldn't be able to tell who the brave people are, right?

I'll likely be joining the Air Force. What will I be doing once I get in? I haven't a clue. I just know that it's probably the best opportunity for me to do something productive and decent with my life.

Judge-Advocate General Corps, Canadian Forces, as a military lawyer (officer).
After I get called to the Bar, I will probably apply.
All the perks of military life (great pay, rewarding, stable job, travel opportunities) and almost none of the dangers (getting shot at, being throwaway meat). I think military law would be fascinating to work with on a high level (treatment of POW, rules of war) and it ties well with my interest for human rights.
