So, if you love Electronic Dance Music as much as I do (If you haven't already gathered that from my username), then tell me about who's music you love and what some of your favorites are by that artist!

For me, it started with Deadmau5. I love his. It is the spark that ignited my passion to try to become an electronic music producer and DJ (Haven't gotten entirely around to that though...But soon!). If I were to pick a couple of his songs that I love most of all, it would go in this order:
5. Some Chords
4. Jaded
3. Professional Griefers ft. Gerard Way (The original edit was amazing also)
2. Ghosts n Stuff ft. Rob Swire
1. Strobe
This is just my opinion. You may love it or not, but he is my all time favorite electronic music artist.

I listen to a lot of electronic. I've currently been exploring footwork/juke. Deadmau5 is real bad, you should dig deeper. Here's some tech house and ambient house.

also RIP DJ Rashad, king of chicago footwork

IDK the younger crowd just pay attention to the shitty skrillex, deadmau5 and justice and there's an entire world of electronic music with hundreds of genres to explore. Kind of bothers me.

My guess is that the majority of teens are into (no offense) mindless obnoxious pointless explosive bass wub and cheesy trance so they limit electronic to only brostep, trance and house.. Maybe DnB but not good DnB lol. There's probably more than a hundred subgenre's in electronic music and nobody really cares. Probably too boring and repetitive when everyone has ADHD.

lol. I know most people listen to crap.
I like electronic music but that could mean anything. In general there's just alot of types of it that I like, but not really into the wub wub boom boom kinda thing.

I tend to gravitate toward dark ambient a lot recently, electronic rock (dark wave, ethereal wave, synthpop, indietronica, etc), and trip-hop but I'll admit I'm no where near well-versed on the subject.

That fall under the genres I listed: Boards of Canada, Midnight Syndicate, Depeche Mode, This Mortal Coil, Cocteau Twins, Claire Voyant, The Birthday Massacre (save the newest two, blegh), IAMX, Nine Inch Nails, Patrick Wolf, Bat for Lashes, Fever Ray, iamamiwhoami, Crystal Castles, Sigur Ros, Massive Attack, Portishead, Sneaker Pimps.

I came here for electronic and then the op said EDM and I got disappointed lol.

Overall I would say I like electronic music. Nothing specific, if I find it and I like it, then I like it.

I really would wish that the mainstream EDM would at least use a different structure other than the "verse-chorus-breakdown" one, though.

Was there a point to making a jab at a mental illness many on here struggle with? Do you have a problem with those who have ADHD?

Also, I'm fairly sure you meant to offend anyone who liked those genres- unless you're completely oblivious. Those are some pretty pointed adjectives.

Aside from the one or two I don't know much about, I love these. Natasha Khan (Bat For Lashes) has an AMAZING voice.

listen to the album Year Zero. it sounds very electro industrial inspired.
also, the newest album has some electronic music in it too.

i mostly listen to bands such as skinny puppy blutengel nine inch nails. I dont like house, trance, EDM, dub step or any kind of music that ends with "step". I like mostly industrial, electro industrial, darkwave, dark synthpop (like clan of xymox) and goth electronica like blut engel

So, if you love Electronic Dance Music as much as I do (If you haven't already gathered that from my username), then tell me about who's music you love and what some of your favorites are by that artist!

Okay so here are my top 5 electronic music songs:

1. Dyro - Calling Out
2. Skrillex - Rock 'n' Roll
3. Madeon - Technicolor
4. TWRK - BaDINGA!
5. Mike Hawkins, Henry Fong & Toby Green - Hot Steppa

Electronic music or me was the first kind of music I connected with. I tried listening to rock and hip hop. I tried jazz and pop. Nothing connected with me. Then one day I stumble across a little guy called Skrillex in early 2011. I listened to the 'My Name is Skrillex' EP and the 'Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites' EP and I just fell in love. This was the song that changed me forever - it was the first electronic music I listened to and it immediately had me hooked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOofWzI3flA (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOofWzI3flA)
Skrillex will always be my hero. He went through some rough stuff in his early years as a teenager and he pushed through. It takes balls to comprehend the fact that your are adopted and he found out at 15. He is such a nice guy and such an inspiration to me.

Nine Inch Nails would be considered electronic. They're pretty good.

I do like electronic music, I like the cheesy EDM but I do like the deeper stuff as well, love techno and deep house, I like a lot of the older house guys as well, Danny Tenaglia, David Morales (saw him live not long ago) and of course Frankie Knuckles (R.I.P) and the likes of that. Let's face it though, every one these days just finds it "cool" to hate on EDM in fact its more cool and hip to hate it now than to like it. I DJ in a few clubs in Glasgow now and when I'm playing the cheesy stuff that gets people going and basically has to be played in the more mainstream places, you always get one idiot coming over to the booth trying to tell you how its terrible and he knows more about music than everyone else. If you don't like don't listen, don't hate on it just because it's cool too.
