View Full Version : I think I'm asexual...?

Hey
I've been questions my sexuality for a long time and I feel I might be asexual.
I find it really awkward and feel excluded when my 'friends' make crude sexual jokes which just aren't funny for me. I don't very often feel sexually attracted to girls (I NEVER think "wow she's hot, wanna fuck her") that's just weird however I'm still romantically attracted to people who I know and like the thought of having a relationship with them.
I don't really get turned on by the thought of sex and for me the thought of having my penis inside a girl is just stomach churning :/. I never watch porn and feel it's just dirty and when I get an erection I don't really masturbate and if I do I'm not really fantasising sex with anyone in particular, just 'a girl' however that's a rarity the last time I masturbated must've been around March time.
Would you agree I'm asexual? Is anyone else asexual and how did you know you were?
Finally, should I tell my parents? I've only just told them I'm gender queer so I don't want to pressure them even more :/

One of my best friends is asexual, and this is very similar to how she feels. I'm grey-a, and this is fairly relatable to me as well. I'd say it sounds likely, and if you feel comfortable with that label, go for it.

I'm grey-a
I've always wondered what this means? I know it's when you experience "some sexual attraction" but what's the definition? And to what extent is "some"?

Honestly? Grey-a is an umbrella term, so you've pretty much got the definition there. Basically, grey-asexual is someone who is between sexual and asexual. Like, for me personally, I have a partner whom I'm sexually attracted to, I'm sexually active, yadda yadda, but masturbation is largely uninteresting, and I don't usually just get the hots for someone. I'll be physically attracted, but not necessarily sexually attracted. Especially if they're male. And even then, it's a big maybe.

I see. Like for me, I rarely masturbate yet I do get randomly horny but I can ignore the urge. I do fantasise about a romantic relationship however the most sexual thing I'm willing to do I'd cuddling, kissing, and very mild foreplay. The thought of penis-in-vagina sex is just sickening and seems disgusting. :/

I raaaaarely get horny without my partner. Usually if I masturbate, it's to use an orgasm as a pick me up
I think a fair portion of asexual people want romantic relationships. My friend is homoromantic, and recently had a girlfriend, actually.
Yeah, that's how my friend feels as well.

Possibly. I think it's safe to say you're asexual. Or possibly demisexual, when you only feel sexual attraction when an emotional bond is formed.

I don't really want to have sex with anyone. I feel extremely disgusted by the thought of having sex. I just feel romantically attracted to girls. I think I am also asexual, but I'm definitely lesbian. There is nothing wrong with being asexual. You shouldn't feel pressured to tell your parents. Nothing is going to happen if you tell them, and nothing is going to happen if you don't tell them. I'd just keep it to yourself for now.

Demisexual falls under the grey-a umbrella, so this would make sense as well. :) I'm sorta kinda demisexual.

I am asexual, and sex repulsed. Yet unfortunately I still have a libido so still have annoying urges. :/

What ever, Is this like Ferris Bueller telling his teacher he is asexular?
