I quite like it. You should revise it a bit and add some punctuation. Punctuation can make a piece of writing very powerful. If you properly use a semicolon or a dash here and there, along with the appropriate punctuation, it can elevate a piece by miles. Utilize the pause -- it is your friend. (see what I did there :P )
