Im not sure if Babysitting falls under this category but anyway:
I have a couple of questions about babysitting because during the summer holidays I would like to do some babysitting to earn abit of money. My questions are:
Am I old enough to babysit? (im 15)
Do boys do babysitting? (or is it more of a girls thing?)
What sort of things may I have to do when babysitting?
Thank you

15 is kinda young, but it's all about maturity. Guys can babysit, I've done it before. It's fun, I love little kids. Depends on the time of day, you may have to supervise bathing if it's late. Watching a movie is always a good plan, playing games together, that kinda stuff always works.

I wouldn't say you're too young or old enough. Do you have any experience in baby/little kid care? Would you be happy caring for the other kids?
It's a lot of responsibility to do your job right. Sure, you could stereotypically sit in a couch and tell the kids to shut up and join.
If it's what you see as pleasureful, do it. Taking care of people should never be a cash cow.

- I want to say yes, but it really depends on your maturity level. I started babysitting when I was 13. I wouldn't recommend anyone to start that young, but I've always been used to looking after smaller kids because I'm the oldest of 5.
- Boys can do babysitting just like girls can.
- It depends on the age of the kids you would be babysitting. It can range from diaper changing and bottle feeding, to coloring books and watching Barney, to actually playing games like hide-and-seek and making lunch.

If you are enough mature, you could be a good babysitter
In addition, I think that there is nothing wrong in a male babysitter, or rather If I had a chance, I 'd be a babysitter too.

U should be old enough and boys CAN do babysitting. Just they don't get hired much cuz of all the sexual abuse scandals. Ah the society

I guess it might be okay if you knew the child's parents

Yes and yes!
As for what you'll have to do, you could basically consider it to be any "house wife" type work.
Most baby sitters are expected to watch the children closely, discipline them if they act up, fix dinner, wash the dishes, make sure they take meds and brush their teeth, get their bathes, don't get into anything, tuck them in, and make sure they go to sleep. You have to be fully attentive, and baby sitting can be a very hard job at times; especially if you have to watch 3 kids! lol

I've tried it before. I've watched over my nieces and nephews a few times. I also once babysat my neighbors' daughter, which I thought was fun. It can be easy or hard depending on the kids.

I babysit all the time and I'm 15, and I'm a guy. When it comes to what you'll have to do though, that depends on the age of the child. 1-2 you'll probably have to change diapers and bathe em, that sort of thing. If they're potty trained, then it'll be easier. The older they are, the easier it'll be. Usually little kids are trained on a sleep schedule of going to bed around 8-9, or whenever they pass out. So just make it till then and then you're home free to do whatever till the parents get home.

I'm babysitting my 1 year old nephew right now, and it's mostly just changing diapers, feeding him, and making sure he doesn't put anything into his mouth or get into something he isn't supposed to. Of course, what you'll be doing depends on how old he/she is. Keeping older kids entertained and making them listen is much harder than keeping infants entertained and stuff. But at least you don't have to change diapers! :P

I don't babysit, but I know plenty of people who do around or even younger. Its just really a matter of maturity and responsibility.

It really does depend on maturity and ability to handle difficult situations.
When i was 12/13 I would babysit my 1 year old nephew as well as my 3 year old nephew alot of the time lol
And I still occasionally do
Now I'm a pro xD

100% of the babysitters I have ever known were chicks. I've never heard of a guy babysitting a kid other than his siblings. it was actually kinda mind blowing a few years ago when I was looking for odd jobs and found out nobody wants to hire a male babysitter anymore because they're afraid their kids will get molested. check your privilege, females.
