View Full Version : Changing poll answers

Sometimes people misclick. Sometimes people reevaluate their opinions. Sometimes people change over time in a long-lasting poll.
Either way, would it be possible to change a poll answer after submitted? :3
I can imagine many people would have used it if it existed.

I would actually love this. I think other people would find it useful.

I know on other forums software having vote cancelling is possible but I'm not sure if it can be implemented on VB.
However I guess it would be cool to have it.

While I know such mod exists and I think at times, it might be handy, I just don't know if it warrants having a mod installed for, given our past track record with server lag. I also don't want it abused, which I fear it would.
In that instance or two where you hit the wrong button or want a different answer, I do see how it's handy, but I don't know if it truly happens enough/warrants a mod. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Val. I think adding a mod for such an option could create server lag and Mike and Val have worked hard to resolve the problem. I have hit the wrong option a few times but usually when I hit the wrong option I usually edit my post and say so.
It might not look the best but it works.

I definitely agree. While it would be neat to add that mod, a simple post edit really does suffice.

Meh. I can kinda see both sides on this problem. It would matter more if you could see who votes what, but when the votes get tallied with nothing else there isn't too big a problem. But I still find it annoying anyhow

Also just so everyone's aware, global mods and admins have the ability to change polls, so you could always just PM one of us or report your thread and ask for it to be changed.

You can't change someone's voting status right? But you can change like the poll title and poll options?

Ah you're correct (at least that for Gmods as far as I know), I misread :P For some reason we can also reset the number, but we can't change votes.

Yeah its just I remembered from my time on staff being asked about poll editing and I said only Admins can do it but it's good to know Gmods can do it as well.
