No one ever in the chat room?

I am new to this place.
Whenever I go to the chat section I see only me online and no messages up on the board.
Is this normal or is there some problem on my side (internet)?

The traffic is heavier at certain times, so you need to figure out when that is in your time zone. For example, in my time (EST) there tend to be 5+ people on chat starting at around 5 or 6pm until maybe 11pm.

It really depends on the time, also, no one goes into the chatroom if it is empty so it takes one person to head in, and then things start from there

It's not just you, I'd say the chat room is empty more often than not. It usually becomes active around the same times every day, and as Hannah said, you just have to find the right time and hop in there when there's a decent amount of people hanging around.

This is exactly what I was going to say -- sometimes, you have to just be the first. No one wants to be the first, so no one goes.

Late evenings, and sometimes early Saturdays/Sundays (speaking in EST time) are when you'll mostly find a lot of people. You'll sometimes see a number next to the "chat room" button, which shows how many people are there.

Last night around 3am GMT+0 there was a few people in. If I see someone in the chatroom then I'll usually follow, I like to talk to folk :D

I wish I could be in the chat room, but I only come to VT on my phone, because I don't have a personal computer.
