Hey guys, I'm asian and I'm 15 and a half years old. I'm 5'10.5-5'11 barefoot, a bit off 6 foot with trainers. I look shorter than I am. I'm not sure why but when I'm with people the same height as me it seems like I'm shorter somehow, but when we go back to back, nothing.

I try to keep a good posture and stand up straight, but is this an illusion that people the same height but skinnier than me seem taller? I'm slightly overweight at 85-90kg, but I don't look obese or anything.

Any advice? And also, will I grow in the next few years? I've only grown 1 inch in the past year ish btw.

Perhaps because your slightly larger it makes your body look shorter by comparison. The human brain, at first glance, will likely presume you are the same width, and it will mess up how tall you look in comparison.
The same effect happens when you look at the moon, it seems larger when it's near the horizon because there are lots of smaller objects to compare it to. However in the sky whilst there is nothing. The moon will once again look small.
I very much doubt I made any sense at all and I am dyslexic so I doubt it even more, but that's what I have to say on the matter, make of it what you will.

That makes perfect sense yes. Of course. Something I wonder is why my head and neck is the only reason why I am weak 5'11 not a weak 5'10. My shoulders and body seem like one of a weak 5'10 dude, and my head/hair patch does give me that lift, which in turn makes me seem smaller. Not sure if that made sense either, but I totally understand, I'm definitely not a skinny guy.

I'm glad I made sense, sometimes I tend to talk in a way only I can follow. And yep, you managed to make sense as well...just...only just

Because people are thinner, they look lengthier and give the appearance of tall, so if your a bit more patted so to speak you give the appearance of smaller
