I was always a fat kid, I always had quite the stomach.
But lately due to depression and the fact I've been walking between 5 and 25 miles a day for a few months I have started to lose some weight.
I have developed large muscles in my legs and...some...muscle...well...basically everywhere from walking large distances.
But besides now being an average(ish) weight at last, and finnaly getting some muscle instead of not being able to lift a tyre.
I want too actually get fit at last. What sort of exercise would youbreccomend to build some stamina and lose that last little bit of excess weight. I don't want to be a freakishly large supper but gym god, I just want to be fit.

P.S. I am a student so don't have any spare money for the gym ;)

You could run or jog - that burns fat differently from just walking. You do not mention food intake - what you eat and when also fluids.

I am 15 now, when I was 12-13 I was overweight, so I went to a nutritionist.
Then I went on a diet, and in the meanwhile I used to have swimming lessons.
I've lost about 18 kg in a year or little more

Do one of those home exercise regimes, there are alot of them.
I do them myself when I'm bored or haven't moved at all all day.
You could do something like

- 20/25 push ups (in a row, may take a while to get there) (daily)
- Running long distance (daily)
- Ab crunches and sit ups, any number untill you are exhausted (daily)
- Get weights and lift daily or weekly

I'm not a fitness expert and just pulled that out of my hole but anything like that works fine because you can do it at home and adjust it to your own needs.

I should say my diet at the moment is total shit. It comprises of junk food and energy drinks.....I have no idea how I've been loading weight eating that crap...
But I have started to watch what I eat to try and get my weight down, cutting out unneeded rubbish and eating properly. As for fluid intake, I just drink water these days whenever I need to, I like to keep hydrated.
I actually feel a lot better after eating properly and not living on crap.

Ok so what plans for summer - stay off the fizzy drinks just empty calories

but you can only do so much and I guess uni food is not healthy -

I'm in college, not Uni. But the food here is still extremely unhealthy. I tend to nip across to the supermarket across the street and buy something healthy. And I have already sworn of fizzy drinks a while ago.

I once saw a quote that stated: "If you want to get fit, 20% of the work is done in the gymnasium, the other 80% is done in the kitchen." If you want to get into shape, cut down the junk food and the energy drinks, those will hide your beautiful six pack. Eat lots of fruit and carbohydrates, and keep drinking water as well. You can start a small workout routine as well, like cheesee said, and here you have two options:

1 - less exercises done each row but in more repetitions (ie. 4 rows of 20 push-ups)

2 - more exercises done each row but in less quantities (ie. 2 rows of 40 push-ups)
Since you've already been a bit overweight in the past, like you said, and even though you aren't anymore, I guess you should do the second option. See what parts of the body you want to exercise and how much can you take each row. Every person has their own limits, you need to find yours.

If at all possible I want to gain a small amount of muscle in my arms, my legs are built like a brick shot house but my arms are no more than average. I dislike them being out of proportion. You can't notice it but I an feel it and it bothers me.

Then I would advise doing push-ups and bicep curls using dumbbells. Push-ups are really great because they work a lot of areas of your entire body at once (upper arms, back muscles, shoulders and abs) and bicep curls, obviously, because they specify on that area.

Also, does anyone know of any way to keep motivated whilst doing this. Its not that I'm going to give up, I've come this far.
I was just wondering how you keep yourself motivated,

Push ups, running, sit-ups. All day everyday. You will eventually become the envy of all. :P

One of my friends does fighting every few days and he's built really well. Kind of sexy if I'm honest. But I doubt I will ever look as good as him. I just want to be fit is all

That's what I'm saying. If you do 100 of each exercise every day. The results will eventually come to fruition.

Run or dance is what I would say to do  or just eat less as I lost 2 stone that way before... before putting it back on and another 2 stone on top :(

Fix your diet. You could do all the pushups/situps/etc you want to,but without fixing your diet you'll most probably notice little to no change.

Workout wise,we have no idea on what's your current level of fitness. Calisthenics is great for an overall workout if you can't go to the gym. Then again, that requires you to have some strength when starting out to actually do the exercises, since it's mostly body-weight. You could do the basic pushups, situps and start running, but having a structured program to target different muscle groups is just better to be honest. If you do go with the basic routine,I'd add pull-ups and squats too. And get the full range of motion from all the exercises instead of half repping it.

Motivation wise, just remind yourself on why you started. You've come a long way trying to get fit this far,if you decide to go back now it's an effort wasted. Once you do start seeing results, the motivation would be there on it's own :P. Remind yourself of your reason.

But i'll put it out there though, you'l more than likely feel like it's not making a difference when you're first starting out. Keep a long term goal instead of a short term goal,3 months,6 months, a year, etc. It's really not an overnight thing and that's why most people stop working out,it's all because they think that you could get extremely fit in a day or two,and then feel demotivated when that's not the case.

Good luck :P

I managed to get into shape a while back and really enjoyed being that way but various health problems meant that it was impossible to maintain and it all wasted away.

Can you ask your friend to help?

That would be good for motivation as well.

Oh god no, he's a great guy, but he does have a tendency to make wise cracks about me at random times and I'm a little insecure. Also, if I saw him in his training gear again I think I would faint...
