Once it goes into effect here, I'll be out and done with school.
Since it doesn't affect me, I don't really know and don't really care what it is, honestly.

I'm just glad I'm done with school because everything they've done recently is fucking pathetic and I don't agree with anything. I much prefer the simple education system I had because I surprisingly did OK and I don't see how you can form friendships with the other kids and the teachers when grades are suddenly much more important and they try a lot harder to help you get them...

We have a system like this in Brazil. In truth,, we ONLY learn the core.
But since U.S. isn't the birdbrain Brazil, and that the Core is not mandatory, yes! It'd be a pity for more specialized schools if a rigorous Core would be implemented and might halt scool-learning development

It is completely unnecessary, its way over the top and is just needed.
Example I googled:
Craig checked out 28 books at the library. He read and returned some books. He still has 19 books checked out. How many books did Craig return? Draw a tape diagram or number bond to solve.
Draw a tape diagram or number bond? What the actual fuck? Excuse me but why are those extra steps needed? If this common core is a new way to get America back on top, it certainly isn't the right way.
From what I read, most parents are against Common Core, and Indiana has already withdrawn from it.
Overall, I'm completely against it.

From what I have seen about it, I feel as though it is more for those students who do not learn as quickly, and as a long, monotonous, reminder to the rest of us... I have aspirations to go to Yale... How am I supposed to take more complex and advanced classes to improve my chances of getting in, when we have to repeatedly review concepts we learned three years ago?!?...

Don't need to do it not in US, and I don't know enough to give a proper opinion. Hope this does not turn into a republican/democrat debate though.. :/

sounds like yet another half-assed attempt to polish a turd (and a waste of money). the public education system needs a complete overhaul.

It puts more of an emphasis on the scores rather than the education. It is just an easier way for schools to brag. I dont like it.
