That makes you a 'shower'. Usually, penises come in 2 flavors: growers and showers. Growers, like me, have a smaller flaccid penis size, such as 2-3 in. Showers have a flaccid size equal or only a bit smaller than the erect size, like you. Both erect sizes will end up being more similar. Over 80% of guys are growers, so you're fortunate; bigger is better, right?

No, 5.8" is just about spot on the average adult erection size so cant be considered small. Average means some guys will be bigger and other guys will be smaller, so that's just how it is. I have pretty much the same size as you.

Your penis does not change size, it is possible that less of it may be visible but you have to be seriously overweight for that to be an issue. Being a bit pudgy will make no difference.

1. I doubt if you will see very significant length increase from where you are now. Its possible, but I wouldnt count on it. What you have there is a normal, average adult penis.

2. Like any other body feature genetics play a part, but that doesnt mean your penis will be like your dads. You dont necessarily have the same eye colour or hair colour as your father, or the same height or facial appearance, so why should you have the same penis size?

3. Body fat doesnt really change your penis size but if you are really fat, not just a bit podgy, the base of your penis can sort of get swallowed up by your pubic area making it look smaller.

You had asked a question a while back and I didn't see a response from others, so I thought I'd give my 2 cents worth.

It depends on when you started puberty.

If you just have a little bit of pubic hair at 14 or started to get it within the last few months, then you really are just beginning to develop. It sounds like you are just starting.

As you would expect, generally taller boys have bigger cocks. You are shorter than most boys.

If you're just starting puberty, then I think everything will work out fine for you.

When I was in grade 9, I was in an all boys class of 24 boys. Two of those boys - Peter and Paul - did not have pubic hair. So about 10 % of boys don't even start until they are 14 or later.

Peter and Paul were good friends and never thought anything of it until everyone had to shower after gym in grade 9. They were surprised that most boys start at around 11.

I remember Peter telling Paul that he got his first pubic hair a couple months later. Peter said to Paul, "I beat you." Paul thought that was funny. :)

What boys really have to look out for is the size of their testicles.

If your balls are much smaller than other boys, then it's possible they are not developing the way they should. That means it's possible they are not and will not function the way they should. They will not produce the testosterone that is needed for normal development of a boy's body.

If a boy's body doesn't get the testosterone that testicles produce, then his body will begin to develop like a girl's body - i.e. wider hips and narrower waist.

The solution is to have testosterone injections.

The problem is not that uncommon. A boy in my year had that problem. A boy I lived with had that problem. A guy I worked with had that problem.

For each of those guys, no medical attention was taken until after their parents noticed their son's body was developing like a girl's body. Of course by then the effect could not be reversed.

I always thought it was a good idea for growing boys to be naked around each other because it gives them a chance to compare their development with others. Even if it is embarassing, at least you know if there is a problem with your development or not.

Of course boys like to know that they are developing normally, so they wonder about the size of their penis. If you look at the statistics, you'll see that 90 % of guys are within a very small range - 5 to 7 inches. That's plus or minus 15 %. No big deal.

As most boys have already figured out, black dudes generally have a bigger cock than white guys and oriental (east asian) guys generally have a smaller cock than white guys.

For adults, the average for blacks may be 7 inches, while the average for whites may be 6 inches, and the average for orientals may be 5 inches.

All this is good to know. But the most sensitive part of a girl's vagina is the first 3 or 4 inches. And every guy is at least that long.

Another thing that boys may be interested in - what determines the size of your penis.

Certainly genetics plays a part because the characteristics of the body is generally determined by the DNA.

But their is some randomness involved. Even identical twins (where the fertilized egg splits and both develop normally into persons) are not exactly identical to the minute detail. One identical twin's hair may be finer than the other. I saw a picture of identical twin guys and their penis' were slightly different.

Plus, the amount of testosterone that the male baby gets in his mother's womb is a determining factor. It is the case that if the testosterone that a boy receives from his mother in her womb is high, then two things will happen.

1. The boy's penis will be bigger.

2. The boy's ring finger will be longer.

That means you can look at a guy's ring finger and tell if he has a bigger penis or a smaller penis.

Personally, my ring finger is longer than my index finger and I'm 7 inches. I was over 6 inches in grade 9. That's pretty good for a white boy. :)

You can ask, but at 14 he will just tell you to be patient. Some people start puberty later than others and some people progress more slowly. You are probably one of those people. Doesnt mean you will end up smaller than normal.

If you have not started puberty at 14 (and 10 % of guys do not), then the more important thing is the size of your testicles.

If your testicles are much smaller than others, then it may be that they are not functioning and will not produce testosterone.

If your testicles do not produce testosterone, then your body will develop like a girl's body (i.e. wider hips and narrower waist). You have to see a doctor about that to get testosterone injections.

If your testicles are around the same size as others, then everything will be fine in time.

If you have entered puberty, then you are likely just slow in developing.

You didn't mention if you have pubic hair or if you can ejaculate. You mentioned your cock is very thin. That suggests to me that you have not started puberty. If that is the case, then check the size of your testicles to see if they are developing normally.

14 is actually a good time to be concerned about you reaching puberty, if you have not reached it yet.

If you have not reached puberty by the time you reach 15, then you should see a doctor.

If you have not reached puberty by 16, your body will begin to develop like a girl's body. By 17 it becomes very noticeable. Of course by then it's not possible to reverse the effect of any develop of your body to appear like a girl's body.

But you should not wait for that to happen. You can catch it much earlier by determining if you have tiny balls compared with everyone else when you reach 14.

No, exercise will not help lengthen your penis.
If you're a bit chubby, and you start loosing weight, it may appear bigger as you start to burn fat around the pubic area, but the actual length will not increase.
Though, you're only 15, you still have a good 5-6 years left of puberty, so it may just grow naturally.

You're doing OK, average adult girth range is from 4-6", you can do the maths yourself, you are at the lower end of that range but already a normal adult size. Girth develops later than length so you probably have more to come.

Its not reasonable to set a target for your penis size, its not like its something that you can influence or control so you just have to take what nature gives you. You are already above the adult average size so even if it didnt grow much more you should be happy with what you have.

Possibly, but no one can tell you that for sure. The normal size range for adults is from 5" - 7" erect, so 5" is a normal adult size and more than enough to get the job done.

Width is not a recognised measurement, you need to measure your girth, which is the distance round your penis shaft at an average point.
