Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted here. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.

So I only self-harm rarely now. It's prolly been about two and half months now since the last time and before that it was even longer. But I've found that even though my scars are about two months old, sometimes when I go to move after sitting still for a long time, I get this burning pain in the area.

Has anyone had this before? The scars are on my thigh and there's at least 25 of them so it's a fairly large section of skin affected. I'm just wondering if it's normal or not because I've self-harmed pretty severely before in the same spot and it never did this before.

Yeah that has happened to me a few times but its pretty rare compared to how many times the cuts on my thighs got itchy.

I'm not sure if its a true so forgive me if i'm wrong but someone said to me its to do with Nerves and damaging them.

I wondered if it was nerve damage. It's the only thing that I think explains why I'm still in pain after so long unless they're just not completely healed beneath the surface.

The itching is normal, that just a sign of healing. The pain is just unusual.

Before I say it's nerve damage, I'd be concerned about some type of infection first. It very likely could be nerve damage, but it also could just be slightly infected. I'd recommend treating it with some type of neosporin or something for a bit and see if that helps you.

They're over two months old and the skin isn't inflamed, hot, or any of the typical signs of infection so I doubt that's it. :/

How deep were they? If they were really deep then the top may have healed but underlying layers might still be wounded.

I don't think it's nescecairly an infection I think it's the remaining scar tissue still being sensitive, because the skin is stretching

I've had this before, but only when they heal in a certain way 'lumpy'? (for want of a better word!) Possibly nerve damage, but I am not too sure., I'd only say that was the case if you got a burning sensation very frequently. Could just be part of the healing process for under the skin. If its causing you great discomfort go get it checked out by a doctor :)

The only experience I have with burning is when you put them under water they really hurt.
