Okay I figured this belonged here since..well..the pill...sex...relationship haha sooo...

I've heard about it and probably gonna get on it soon (I've already asked I just need to make an appointment) does anyone know how much they are? and does anyone know the pros and cons of the patch? I looked at the side effects of the pill and some of the older ones have the side effect of weight gain..omg...I couldnt deal with that..seriously I have MAJOR self esteem issues as it is lol and I looked at some newer ones and it just has like upset stomache and stuff for the first 3 months ....the patch doesnt have that side effect either but I was wondering if you accidently put it in the wrong spot or something are you just fucked for the next month (haha no pun intended :P) cus it's like a once a month thing and I couldnt find anything on it other than side effects .....anyhoo...

I'd also like to know exactly what it does....I've heard people say you dont have to wear protection and he can cum inside you and I've also heard you should still wear a condom on the pill and yeah...both of those can't be right haha thanks ya'll :-D

ok well if ur on the pill he can cum inside u... use a condom because of STD's.... if u both are clean.... no need for a condom.... and the patch is like the pill.... because anything u put on ur skin... gets absorbed.... like makeup or something gets absorbed into ur blood stream..... and the stuff on the patch gets absobed and is like the pill... and the patch doesnt fall off

edit: I also forgot to add something...my sister claims that my nephew was conceived while she was on the pill but she said that like a few weeks prior to getting pregnant she missed 1 pill (just 1, one day) is that why?? does missing 1 day matter? cus I know it takes like a month to take full effect in the first place but if you miss one does it take that long before you're fully safe again??
cus my sister is an airhead and my mom claims she missed more than one but my sister swears (compulsive liar....no joke) she only missed one....and yeah I know these are all questions I can ask my doctor but I wanna know now and I dont wanna ask my mom cus I'm not that comfortable saying..oh can joseph cum in me? lol so yeah

if u take the pill.... ull need to take it everyday... if u miss it.... ur screwed.... i cant put it in ne less harsh.... thats why the patch is kinda better... it stays on you...

I havent used the patch before, however this website might be of some help to you for comparing some of the different types of contraception and it also explains how they work...

And youre not alone, i was also worried about the whole weight gain thing as a side effect of the pill...however, when i asked my doctor she said that as many studies have shown that some people have also lost weight when they have gone onto the pill, and some people have stayed the same, so i guess it can just be different for everyone...

The best advice i could give you is when you go along to the doctor just ask any questions you have :D . You dont have to decide right away when you are there, you can just go along and talk about all the different kinds before you decide which one you want to go for...
Im not sure what it is like over there, but over here, the doctor went through all the different kinds, asked me (lots and lots :P lol) of questions...to try and find out which kind would be best :D

Anyway, when the pill is used correctly, it is extremely effective(thats why its the most popular form of birth control :D ). The reason people use condoms aswell is because it helps them feel more secure as well as protecting against stds. My doctor said she always recommends it because the pill doesnt protect against stds however, if there is no risk then it is safe to use the pill by itself...and yes he can come in you...
