So tonight I was out with a friend and we seen someone outside that we both know and he was with his friends, who seemed nice enough but I didn't really start a conversation with them and was quiet the whole time...
I don't know what to do to make myself more confidence

It's really just about workong up the courage. I used to, and still have, an uninviting complexion to strangers. I get over, by vowing to say something/ introduce myself to someone new at zero, then count down from twenty/ten/five.

Just try to flow in with the conversation his friends are having and you'll automatically talk to everyone.

You just have to work up the courage mentally. Just tell yourself not to be nervous and just start asking questions. It should work itself out from there.

As for confidence you should know nobody will look down on you for taking part in the conversation unless you say something really dumb.
