Duke of Edinburgh problem.

I went on my Duke of Edinburgh 1 night expedition last weekend and something weird happened but i am not sure if i should bring it up or not. I was sharing a tent with a close friend on mine and he asked me what i was going to sleep in, I said i sleep naked (Started a while ago, simply cannot go back) but i will wear a pair of boxers just for him as a joke. We both got into our sleeping bags and went to bed, but i found i just couldn't sleep in the boxers and took them off, thinking i would still be in the sleeping bag so it wouldn't matter.

When i half woke up with my sleeping bag was practically unzipped to the bottom and i was laying 'exposed' towards him. He kind of tapped me on the shoulder, pointed down, laughed a bit and got changed. I felt really, really embarrassed. I have literately no clue how my Sleep Bag got itself unzipped (i wouldn't of thought it was him. But he was awake before i was so i could of been laying there naked of ages :confused:).

I am not sure if i should ask him if he unzipped it (i could of done it in my sleep?) or just try forget it. Help!

It's not too big of a deal. He might've just wanted to see how big you are and compare without asking you. If you want to, you could ask him if he did it and ask if he just wanted to compare or something. If you need more advice about it, just message me, I'm cool with talking about it.

Maybe he was just curious, maybe you have nocturnal escapades, maybe you got a boner in your sleep so strong it tore open the zip. Any one could be the suspect. I suppose you ask him politely, maybe make a joke so he won't think he's in trouble (unless he is) and milk the truth outta him. Then go for a milkshake and some torture at the Dungeon. Maybe look for the little drummer boy's ghost?

Just go right up and ask him if he unzipped the bag, but do it in a nonconfrontational way. Like with a joke, or through a text.

I think he was, probably he want to see your naked body or your penis. In my opinion it's normal for teenagers feel curiosity. How old are you and your friend?

I wouldn't really shrug it off. It does not matter whether or not he was 'experimenting' and if that is normal. What matters is that you possibly feel a bit violated. This was a pretty large breech of trust that must be addressed with a bit of seriousness. It's not cool that he did this without your permission.

i'd give him the benefit of the doubt and say you did it in your sleep. i've heard of people doing things like making meals in their sleep, so you unzipping your bag in your sleep maybe to cool off doesn't seem that far fetched

So my options are he wanted a look, I am a 'sleep flasher', i have sleep boners powerful enough to split open my sleeping bag or maybe i was just to hot. :P

Me and him are both 15 years old, but we both matured really early. I am thinking i should give him the benefit of the doubt, for no reason other then i can't think of a way to phrase ''Hey, Callan, Did you unzip my sleeping bag while i was sleeping to get a look at my hot bod?''

Kim Jong also has hit something, i am not sure i am comfortable with someone unzipping me at night and looking at me for god knows how long (if he could unzip me who is to say i'd feel him touching me either?). It's not like i am shy, or it's not even that he hasn't seen me naked, we both are in the same Rugby Team and we shower together. But having this mystery just kinda gets to me :S

I would wait until your next hike and see what he does or invite him round for a sleepover and see if he tries anything or go and talk to him and say "I'm still so embarrassed, I can't believe that happened and I can't understand how I unzipped my sleeping bag while I was asleep"

What happens on DOFE stays on DOFE, that's like the rule. If anyone is wondering what it is it's pretty much some award where you go camping/hiking for a week with no help with people in your school. It's actually one the best things I've ever done

Since you said you shower together then it actually doesn't make sense that he'd open it. He's already seen you naked. Besides, if he wanted to open it why would he wake you up and point?

I think it's most likely that you unzipped it in yr sleep because you were warm or constricted or whatever. People do all kinds of things in their sleep.

Hi Alex,

There's just far too much speculation involved, when you aren't entirely sure of what has happened. You were asleep and awoke with the sleeping bag unzipped, with your friend making fun of you afterwards. Those are the only certain things, it seems. The only other person within the tent who would be aware of what happened prior to you waking up, would be your mate.

It sounds like you're really disturbed by Kim Jong Illin's suggestion of what happened, which would probably have you continuously wondering about what the truth is. If you are indeed wanting to know what happened, the best thing would be to ask. Other than that, it sounds like you won't find out. Asking in a manner like Catholic Guy's suggestion is a gentle way of approaching the matter, which would probably get you the answer.

If you know that you can allow this to pass within your mind, then a good thing would be to shrug it off, knowing that you and your friend are good mates; who have seen each other bare all before anyway.

The further question you should have of yourself, is that if you are indeed the good friends that you are, then should you doubt your friend's character? If this is the case, as mentioned by someone else before; you should give your friend the benefit of the doubt.

I'm going to guess that he probably uncovered you while you were sleeping, and most likely touched you as well. although I wouldn't mind messing around with a friend on a camping trip, it is creepy, if not straight up molestation, to do that to someone without their explicit consent. in this situation, I'd feel annoyed that he didn't just ask me.

I've decided to let it go and it will likely just become one of those inside jokes good friends usually have. I mainly wasn't embarrassed because he was seeing me naked, he could of ogled me all he liked for all i care during Rugby Showers, what got me all embarrassed was the fact i was waking up with a morning glory. Seeing someone naked in a non sexual context i'd have no problem with, but seeing someone with a Boner is quite a bit different i'd imagine. I have the real expedition (this was a practice one) next weekend for an extra night, if anything will come of it then it will probably be then.

Thanks guys, i was actually starting to freak out thinking what could of happened while i was asleep. But now i realize, he is a good mate, i shouldn't be thinking he would do something like that (well, without asking first ;) ). I'll be sure to tell anyone who cares if anything happens next weekend. Although long story short i may have to invest in loose boxers :D

He got to me before i got to him about talking about it. He made a tackle on me, but during the wrap he was pushed to the ground so i was on top of his hand, which was currently cupped around me penis. When he got up i said jokingly ''God Cal, buy me a drink first!'' and he said ''Well sorry, don't flash me!''

He must of seen the embarrassment and as then he was all comfort-y saying it's natural and all that. So it seems to me that i probably unzipped myself in my sleep then turned to face him, so it was less him being curious and more me flashing him! :rolleyes:

Some one overheard and got into the story, now it's all around the Rugby Team but they aren't making fun of me. In fact they have given me the nickname ''King Kong Slong'', which while it sounds good, god knows that's gonna be around the school the minute we get back on Monday. If thats a good thing or bad thing is yet to be seen :D
