Question about breast pain a week before your period.

My girlfriend should get her period either next Friday or Saturday, and has discovered that her left breast is a little tender, so could it be that causing it? She's 19.

This is how she described it: "It's like, when you have a bruise, and you touch it... kind of feels like that." It's "tender" and doesn't hurt unless she touches it. Does it sound like the period doing it or not?

As said above, it is completely normal. It is called Pre-Menstrual Syndrome or PMS. The Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premenstrual_syndrome) seems to cover it fairly well.
