You absolutely CAN have sex while a girl is on her period. For some girls, it helps to get rid of cramps and may feel better than it does when she's not on her period because of her hormones. She can still get pregnant though, so don't forget to use protection.

When I'm on my period I feel absolutely disgusting - bloated and chubby everywhere else, mostly - and do not want to expose my body to anyone. Some guys also find it pretty gross. Period blood is not any more disgusting than a girl's natural lubrication or discharge, but it's colored, so it seems like it.
