What do you think is the best pick-up ever made? Please back your choice up with actual evidence aside from looks. Don't just say "2014 Silverado bcuz dat shit iz totally dope as shit." Get what I mean? Don't be the guy that likes the wheels instead of the engine and transmission.
To be honest, my answer is going to sound weird. If you know me even a little but, you'd guess that I would pick some American made truck from a recent year. No. I want the opposite of that. My choice is the fourth generation Toyota Hilux or simply the 1980's Toyota Pick-up.
The Hilux is a Toyota. That means it's more reliable than a Chevy, Dodge, or Ford. The engines made by Toyota are outstandingly durable. Aside from the engine being dare I say... the best, the engineering is fantastic. Everything is extremely simple so not much can break. If something is going to break, you can bet that it's going to be a hell of a big deal. There is no breaking this masterpiece that drives in the lands of Uganda and the streets of Los Angeles.

too many trucks i like some examples are 2014 raptor because its just an amazing engine and platform, f150 lighting because the ford gt is my favorite car and the lightning uses the same engine black as the ford gt, and also the gmc syclone because their just awesome mini pick ups are cool. O ya also chevy s10s are pretty nice

Had a 4wd version of that, and a ton of my friends have them too. Those things will go FOREVER.

I'm not a Ford person but the Ford f150 trucks were the number one selling truck for a long time. I like the 53 - 56. here comes some more car porn Rob

I like my dad's Silverado 2500 quite a lot. Given, it's the only pickup i've ever driven/been in, but the Duramax is a pretty solid engine. It has the allison transmission too, and Allison is known for their durability in trucks and buses.

1996 or before f150 with a 300-6 in it. A straight 6 design that never died. my dads old f150 had 300,000 miles on it and was still going strong.....then he totaled it. but seriously those engines dont die

I love the Ford AA pickup. The flathead V-8 is built like a brick, everything is easily accessible, and it will never die no matter what you do. Granted, it can't break speed records.. but what do you expect out of a 80 year old, 3/4 ton truck? Can't beat a AA if you asked me. I should know. (Mine sat in a pond for the last 15 years... we worked on it IN water, and DROVE IT OUT of the same pond... all in one week. No help needed for it.)

1969 Chevy fleetside. I love the 8 cylinder 3 speed on the column set up. Mines still on the road from 69.
