So I need some advice. I'm having a mental dilema choosing whether to goto prom by myself with no date & no friends. Or just not go at all.

I'm a senior hs, I honestly dont have any friends, but I dont want to regret not going to prom in like 20 years from now even though it's so irrelevant.

Mine was last Saturday and I just didn't go, seeing as I had no one to go with. It just didn't seem worth it to me.

I had a date last year, but this year not. So I just went anyway just for the fun of it. After prom is when the party really begins!! lol

If you think yoou might regret not going then go - guess you can always leave early if it does not work out -

Why is a date the most important thing when going to prom in America?
Here in the UK, 90% of people don't have dates when going to prom... well that's my school anyway...

I agree with James, go for a little bit and if you don't enjoy just leave (: After all you could have fun and meet other people there!

I'll have to agree with plebble. Not many people here in the UK actually have a date when going to from.

At my school, I find that everyone dances with everyone else, including the teachers sometimes haha.

It's your choice though, brother!

Yeah, having a date is just a popularity contest which if you win, it will just expire in a few days after graduation anyway. It's ridiculous and a bit sad I think.

Dances, regardless of the theme, cause, or class, are almost always boring to me without friends or a date. Then again, I'm not very good at small talk with acquaintances, but if you are you might as well go. I want to go to prom next year, date or not.

I think you should just go. You might meet some new people.

GO, GO, GO!!!!
It doesn't matter you have no one to go with. It's prom, c'mon you'll have fun trust me, you may make friends there. I'm in my hs student council and i'm class representative and i'm a senior, i went alone this year to prom even though like 3 boys asked me to go with them. And you know what? it was the best prom everrrr

Never "not go" when there is even a weensy feeling that you might regret it. It is a no loss situation. Go, I say. Enjoy. You can always walk out if you feel bored or lonely.

Honestly man ive been to two, save your money and dont go if you arent going with friends cuz you will get super bored...prom is just a dance that you pay an arm and a leg for... maybe see what others are doing after prom?

This is an easy one- slightly harsh to say the least but it's my best advice: DON'T GO...it's not that I don't want you there but it's just insanely awkward if you don't have a partner with you right? Even more awkward if you're just going to be a single pringle, asking for a dance and then being rejected to every one right? I'm saying this from experience but IMO don't go. Having said that, I am very willing to accept the argument that you have nothing to lose- and technically you don't
