Hey!

I have an old Blaupunkt Heidelberg SQR47 and a Lübeck CCR45, and I also have 2 speakers, and some cables. (My friend gave me them as a payment for a little job), and I'm planning to make a stereo radio reciever from one of them.

How should I do it? What should I use it for getting it under power? (230Volts, EU). Is using a computer power supply with the correct wiring is a good idea?

Thanks

Holy crap no!

Those are designed to run of the 12V battery in a car, if you plug it into a 230V supply if will simply explode as all the capacitors inside it all light up and pop at once, not to mention it will set thongs on fire and likely electrocute you.

If you want to make a sterio radio receiver I suggest yoy look else where.

It would be far easier just to use an ordinary stereo...

That's why I want to use a power supply. I have only a dead one, but I checked the wiring, and it's the same for the power etc.
And it's only 12Volts, like a car system

Google this.
Computer PSU is the way to go, there's tons of writeups on how to do it if you google it.

If you're determined to use a car stereo at home try getting or building an ac to dc converter.
