View Full Version : I'm almost 16 and I still haven't masturbated

I'm 16 in a week, and I still haven't masturbated. I want to - but I've been procrastinating for years. I guess it's because I'm scared in case my foreskin is too tight, or in case I get caught or walked in on. Has anyone else not yet masturbated? Should your foreskin easily go back in just one pull?
Also, do most guys carry on masturbating past puberty?

I have a friend who says he hasn't. I have been masturbating since I was 11 though.
My best advice if you wanna do it, is just use lube and take your time. I am cut by the way, so my advice isn't from experience.

It's very rare not to. And yes most guys (release through sex aside) will still enjoy a session into adulthood, though our hormones will level off, so it will become less often

I can't not masturbate!
Maybe try when your home-alone so no one can walk in on you for the first few times. Take it slow and you'll get the hang of it at the end and wish you started earlier!

That raised my eyebrows when I saw the title..
You should just loosen up your foreskin.. afaik you can masturbate with a tight foreskin too.
If you don't want to get caught just do it in the shower or on the toilet.

Heh, masturbation eh... I was kinda bugged when I didn't feel like masturbating with a tight foreskin. In fact, masturbation loosens up your foreskin, and it gradually stretches out. It's best to do it on the shower though...

Yep.. yep.. it DEFINITELY stretches the foreskin out
But mine still seems kinda tight, although I don't know if it's average to only be able to pull it back by around half the head.
I started doing it at around 10 or 11, but my brother is 21 in 4 days and says he hasn't yet. I really don't believe him. The 2 things I suspect most is that he does masturbate and is ashamed of it and that he has aspergers (my reasons for thinking this are very clear.. at least to me and I think to my dad) but the second is unrelated to this. Also, a friend in my old school who none of us would have suspected to do it once shocked me by saying he did. I now want to talk to him again and watch him do it one day... I now have suspicions about another friend that I don't think has done it. He's seen my boner before when it poked through the buttons on my underwear while in the changing room at school... :whoops:
If a friend who no one thought would have done it did, almost everyone does it, in my random opinion. And I don't think my really high sex drive will ever go away :whoops::) but I also know hardly anything about the brains of other people.

When I first started, that's what I did. I would sit in my bathroom and I actually did that for about a year or two and eventually I moved that activity to my bed lol
You do need to stretch your foreskin out because it's going to be very hard to clean as you go through the rest of your life. If it's not stretched out, sex will be hard to have with a condom... Just start stretching it out. When you're in the shower, do it. When you go to piss, do it. When you have a boner, do it. Just gradually do it so it doesn't start hurting but enough for it to loosen up.

The only problem with doing it in the bathroom is.. what time of day would you do it? I've done it before, but at random, like... I go in there, lock the door, sit on the floor, do what I have to do and then flush the toilet and unlock the door; but my brother knows what I'm doing in there as I actually tell him and my parents know because it is quite obvious and my dad once came upstairs to talk to us both when I was locked in there doing it.
To me hiding it seems like a bad idea... surely risking getting caught to start with is better so they actually know that's what you're doing; as has been said, because of hormones it's normal; so you shouldn't be too embarrassed about it unless you're religious and are supposed to think of it as bad. My parents learned the hard way that I have urges that need constant dealing with after catching me quite a lot of times and I think it's better to be like that no matter how far you are into it and how instant my erection goes down and I have to start over. It can be quite annoying but it's only until you and they get used to it.

I seriously recommend trying it. In my case it makes me so much happier and just generally feeling better. One of the apparent benefits of masturbating is that it can release endorphins or something that just make you feel so much better temporarily all over. It IS my procrastination, I always do it when the thought enters my head.
And in my case, HOPEFULLY I'm very close to being done with puberty at 17; I don't know how much more of this shit I can take; I've actually started to do it a lot more. I've been getting horny much much more easily, seriously, I looked at a picture of Tom Daley for 1 second earlier and.. there you go. And I've been thinking about sex, randomly rubbing my nipples without noticing, getting erections in college even more, wanting to become someone's FWB, getting enough confidence to tell a friend I'm sexually attracted to him. Maybe it's my brain telling me to just go ahead and have sex, I even looked up escorts before and seriously if I lost weight it is something I'd love to try... :whoops:
If you want to do it, just do it, nothing's stopping you from wanting to at least give it a try and see how you feel. Just try not to become addicted to it like I think I have :D:whoops::lol:

I would do it at night and I would do it right before I took a shower so I could be messy and then shower and clean up. My parents always thought I was just taking a really long shit lmfao

Haha that's the impression I was going for too with my mum and dad. But then it's awkward when obviously I get the feeling for it and I know it won't take too long to complete, so I rush to the bathroom to do it and then flush the toilet after 30 seconds or so because I've already locked the door. That's when it's a bad idea to lock yourself in the bathroom so I would recommend while in the shower or something if you're going to lock yourself in the room but they would ask what's up with me if I randomly wanted to have a bath/shower at any time of the day other than the morning before college  I won't be able to win.
I think I remember reading up before, a website recommended that doing it with the door open to risk being caught can in a way make it more fun and interesting. I know it can sound stupid but that is why I recommend it :)

Don't worry mate, it really is a matter of choice. Some people make a conscious decision not to. For those who do, some start sooner, others later. It's not really a race. For those who do, most start around the years surrounding puberty. Even beyond pubertal years, many guys do continue masturbating, whether having intercourse or not.
I have a friend who went into his twenties without masturbating. It was a conscious choice. He is now happily married, without any issues.
If you're making a conscious choice to start and have those fears, then find a time and place which affords privacy. That way it eliminates the chances of being caught out.
As for the question on foreskin, some people do have an easily retractable foreskin, while others do not. However, guys in the latter group still end up successfully stimulating themselves adequately with intercourse and masturbation to ejaculation. It's just a matter of being careful if that's the case - as you otherwise run the risk of causing some pain or even injury to yourself. If you do have tight foreskin, it'd be a good idea to use some lubrication and proceed gently. Many people do this even if they don't have tight foreskin.
You are a god. I wish I could not masturbate.

I strongly advise you to never even think about it.Just continue your life like how you are doing it right now and you would never get stuck in the trap of masturbation in your life.Believe me,it's always 99% bad to masturbate;Neither logically nor scientifically,it's not a normal thing to masturbate.Just wait until the time you find someone to have sex with, this is always better than masturbating.

On the contrary, it actually makes sense to do so. It seems like you're making a suggestive statement, without any evidence or having reviewed the literature.
From a physiological response point of view, it is an activity which actually induces a pleasurable response through release of chemicals like endorphins. In addition, studies show a correlation which suggests reduction of prostate cancer incidence as well as lowering blood pressure for people with hypertension. It reduces stress and also helps with insomnia.
As a side point, physical exercise also leads to release of endorphins and can ultimately lead to blood pressure reduction. This positive lifestyle practice, through other means, can also contribute to reduction of different cancers. While far and away very different in nature, these two activities actually do share some similar health benefits. So when you say it is not logical or is not scientifically right? It's a wrong statement. There are benefits associated with its practice.
So while you yourself don't want to do it, whether from personal beliefs, cultural practices or other reasons - I'd urge you to not make unsubstantiated comments.
At the end of the day Ryan, it's up to you. Weigh up the information for yourself.
Take care mate. Let us know what kind of thoughts you have?

Apologize, but it looks like you are insanely wrong about some points!Even the deadliest poisons of the world have some good effects and benefits either, but in general they are harmful because at last they will harm the body;Masturbation is the same!
1.First of all, when you masturbate and sorry to say, cum, there is a high chance of infection and disease in your genital organs if you do not clean soon after that:because semen contains a huge amount of protein and energetic chemicals which can attract many kinds of harmful bacterias and microbes to your genital organs.
2.Masturbation is highly addictive. If you be addicted to masturbation then you surely need to do that for several times during a certain period of time to satisfy yourself, while regular sex is not this much addictive;and if you masturbate too much, then your body needs to provide more protein for you, while this protein is much more needed in other parts of your body, for example in your sight organs and eyes;(I know lots of people who masturbate and they didn't need to wear glasses in the past and now they need, because their bodies were not able to provide needed protein for their sight organs)
3.Masturbation can make genital organs so sensitive.
4.It will take lots of energy from your body, while you much more need that energy for your other organs, especially if you are a teenager.
And many other harmful effects which can even put your life in danger...However,I personally believe masturbation can be beneficial too but only if you do not be addicted to it,while it is impossible in 85% of the cases
I recommend you all to study more about its bad effects too and not think that it is all good and benefit.

You are being quite dramatic and choosing unique reasons to justify your opinions, I think?
1.First of all, when you masturbate and sorry to say, cum, there is a high chance of infection and disease in your genital organs if you do not clean soon after that:because semen contains a huge amount of protein and energetic chemicals which can attract many kinds of harmful bacterias and microbes to your genital organs.
By your reasoning: When one eats and doesn't wash their mouth or hands properly, they can allow bacteria to multiply and causes diseases! Oh no! These can then cause severe illness! Henceforth, should we not eat?
Are you going to tell me that the modern day human needs to find a new way of cleansing themselves while going to the toilet to pass faecal matter too? Perhaps all people need to double glove and wear gas masks in bathrooms - they're at high risk of bacteria exposure!
No. We practice good hygiene. Seems like a bit of common sense needs be exercised here.
2.Masturbation is highly addictive.If you be addicted to masturbation then you surely need to do that for several times during a certain period of time to satisfy yourself,while regular sex is not this much addictive;
Please educate the population on how intercourse with a partner is more addictive than masturbation alone? One would think it reasonable, when accounting for pheromones and other biopsychosocial factors, that intercourse with a partner is more attractive a course of action in most circumstances, than masturbation alone.
and if you masturbate too much, then your body needs to provide more protein for you, while this protein is much more needed in other parts of your body, for example in your sight organs and eyes;(I know lots of people who masturbate and they didn't need to wear glasses in the past and now they need, because their bodies were not able to provide needed protein for their sight organs)
AND
4.It will take lots of energy from your body, while you much more need that energy for your other organs, especially if you are a teenager.
Excellent reasoning! By following your advice, let's all not run, or swim or exercise! We're using up valuable calories, which can be put towards valuable sight and muscle building! I wonder why not all elite athletes are going blind? Maybe we should all stay at home, eat, sleep, go to the toilet with our toxic gas protection masks, then repeat the cycle day in and day out?
No. We balance our lifestyle. This not only includes energy intake, but energy expenditure as well. And as incredulous as it might seem, not only physical well being is important, but mental too.
Eating kilograms of dark chocolate and drinking gallons of red wine in a go isn't healthy. But doing so in moderation has been shown to be of benefit. Likewise, I'm not advocating that Ryan masturbates 50 or 60 times a day. Literature has shown however, positive trends when this is done in moderation.
For example you can check this article too: http://scholarlyanswers.blogspot.com/2013/01/22-harmful-effects-of-masturbation-in.html
I thank you for educating me and referring me to the author of the article, "God's Gift". Although the author sounds most knowledgeable, I unfortunately wasn't able to find their medical or other expert credentials on the page.
I did however manage to read through all the information provided by "God's Gift" and did some further searching. I was able to find some quick articles provided by other people who quoted studies or were from reputable organisations, who seemed to provide information to the contrary.
I hope these provide some interesting reading for our members:

2. http://www.spermbankcalifornia.com/male-masturbation.html (A list of multiple journal articles and studies which support the positive effects of masturbation)

Once again, not everything is risk free. There's always a risk of something adverse happening. I am not saying that there are no drawbacks to nearly all that we do, but we need to weigh up the risks and benefits. We'd all otherwise not fly in planes, walk across roads, or even sleep under a roof. The plane might crash. We might be hit by a car. The roof might fall on us. But given what I've read, there are far more benefits than drawbacks I've read thus far.
To finish off, yes, there is a chance of becoming addicted to the activities we do. That we cannot deny. However, I'm not saying we need to do all these things. There is a choice associated with it all. Sometimes what we face is difficult, sometimes less so. I'd like to leave a small excerpt here from a well known poem: Invictus, by William Henley.
"It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul."
In today's modern society filled with so much information, I am sure that we are all very able to access the information that is available at our fingertips. My reasoning was fair enough and you can research a little more about harms of masturbation too, still you are the owner of your own body,I do not care how you are going to treat yourself,I just advised our friends here to go on without masturbating. Why?Let me shamefully confess this:Once I was a masturbation addicted person myself, and I saw what terrible consequences it had in my life.
Fortunately I quit it about two years ago while it was about 3 years that I had been doing it.Now,just since two years ago, once again I can live my life exactly the way which I always used to live. You surely understand what experiencing something by oneself means right?
Still our friend here is allowed to choose any path he likes,I do not care.

You should start NOW! You will experience one of the most pleasurable feelings in your life! Once I started, I just have to do it whenever I have a chance.. Now that I have sex regularly I still do it every day. I'm just addicted to it... need to do it now...

I didn't start masturbating until very recently, and I didn't know what masturbation was until I got the tingly feeling from touching myself. Anyway, you won't know if your foreskin is too tight, unless you try it out, and if you're worried about being walked in on, lock the door and tell your housemates that you need alone time, and not to bother you.

I'm 17 and I still masturbate. It is a normal thing. It is actually healthy for you to do it because it gets rid of old sperm you have. If you don't want to get caught do it in the bathroom before a shower. Just say you wanted to take a long shower.

I have to say I tire of the "every sperm is sacred" approach from various religions. For a lighthearted look at the issue listen to the Monty Python song of that name. If God (under whatever name you use) wanted us to live by all those rules don't you think he would have made us well adapted to do so? Instead of starting to make sperm at puberty it would only happen once we had married and were ready to start a family, sperm would be better swimmers or the distance shorter such that one occasion of copulation would be sufficient and then we wouldn't get horny again until the pregnancy was over.
To take a really cyncical approach I think the organised religions are as much human institutions as holy ones and their leaders are empire builders just as much as business leaders and the kings and emporers of the past. They want to swell the numbers in their religion to make themselves more important and a high birth rate (into proper religious familiers) is an easier option than evangelism.
In the modern world with puberty starting earlier and education continuing for longer and given that we like people of both sexes to be able to finish their education and maybe even get stuck into a career before parenthood there has to be a way to release sexual tension during that period and masturbation is a key part of that. It is free, both financially and free of emotional complexity, fun, good practice for later and healthy too. Obviously anyone who does not feel the urge to do it is welcome not to but most people do get the urge in which case there is no reason not to go with that and enjoy it.

If ur fire skin is too tight that needs to b felt with NOW, for sanitary and health reasons.
If it is too tight, gently stretch it. I did when I was 14. Be prepared for ur head to b sensitive after u retract it for the first time.
I masturbated for yrs before retracting my fore skin.

I never had an issue with my foreskin being too tight and by now it should have loosened anyway, your balls must ache being that full of cum! I have to say even if you don't wank you should still know how tight your foreskin is because you need to be washing under it! If you've waited this long I wouldn't go and ruin it, I would find a girl and be honest, practise that your foreskin goes down and then let her do it for you

I've been masturbating since I was 12 or so, I can't really give you my opinion on that.

Masturbation is highly addictive,of course sex is highly addictive too but sex is not always available, while you can masturbate nearly everywhere you are and anytime you want. Many biological resources have announced that ejaculating for several times a day can not even be good, but also harmful and really dangerous for body and internal organs. Now for ejaculation you have two ways : 1-Regular sex or 2-Masturbation.
When you are having sex,you have a partner who needs to enjoy the sex too,so you cannot ejaculate just in 2 or 3 minutes after you have put it in,while masturbation is not like this and it is only you so you can ejaculate for several times in only 5 minutes.
You were right if the person who was masturbating only wanted to do it for only once or at most two times a day,but as masturbation is highly addictive, that person cannot just satisfy his desires with only once or two times a day and so he has to do this for several times in a short period of time.
Also, you don't have to forget that when there are lots of sperms in your Epididymis, they can be ejaculated while you are asleep which is a normal thing and can help you decrease the sexual pressure which is on you without needing to masturbate meanwhile the amount of sperm which you have in your Genital organs will be balanced too.
Ejaculating for several times in a short period of time can be really dangerous because : 1-You may not be able to reproduce in the future because your genital organs may face some problems for producing sperm. 2-It can make your Genitals very sensitive which can cause troubles for you while you want to have regular sex, which can make you ejaculate sooner than what you have to.(You do not have to forget that your partner needs to enjoy the sexual intercourse too and it is not only you who has sexual desires)
Also,it is only because of the so-called modern reforms that people cannot marry at young ages anymore, while in the past people used to marry at younger ages.

Masturbation is highly addictive,of course sex is highly addictive too but sex is not always available...
For most people that is not true. It is true that people who are addicted to something tend to do it often and many people seek sexual release often, whether through masturbation or sex, but that does not make either sex or masturbation an addiction.
An addiction could be:
1. A behaviour that, once discovered, is indulged in so often it has serious consequences for the other aspects of a person's life. An example of that would be an addiction to gambling where someone feels so compelled to do it he loses all his money and has none to use for day to day living.
2. A dependency on a substance such that once the person is in the habit of using that substance the body chemistry adapts to it such that the person either cannot function normally once the substance is withdrawn or has extreme difficulty doing so. Examples of this kind of addiction include tobacco, coccaine and heroin.
You could include alcohol in the second category but most people who drink it do not develop any depenence on it. A few do and we call them alcoholics.
Sexual activity would be a better fit for the first category and I believe there are a few people who may find themselves driven to seek orgasm so often it leaves too little time to lead an otherwise normal life but this is rare and does not happen to the majority of people. Just as we don't warn the majority of the population against touching alcohol because a few become alcoholics the same applies to masturbation. Most are able to enjoy it whilst still keeping up with school work or work, social connections, sports activities and all the other myriad of things people do.
Essentially this argument is that a guy needs the unwillingness of his partner to engage in sex many times a day to limit his own appetite for sexual release. I don't believe this has any foundation in fact. Girls get horny too, though their apetite for sex is more variable and can be linked to where they are in the menstrual cycle such that a girl may not be interested at all one day and another day may be up for doing it five, six or more times.
While it is true a guy does not have to make his masturbation session last in order to please a partner he may nevertheless chose to make it last in order to please himself.
It is also the case that most guys cannot ejaculate several times in quick sucession (one ejaculation consists of multiple spurts and accompanies one orgasm). Once a guy has ejaculated that generally leaves him satisfied and uninterested in sexual activity for a period of time afterward. That means that far from causing him to spend his days focusing only on his cock, masturbation is the means by which a guy who does not have another regular sexual outlet is able to concenrate on other things rather than being distracted by perpetual horniness.
It is true that wet dreams are there as a kind of safety valve but for most guys waiting for those to happen rather than choosing to masturbate means walking around in a high state of sexual arousal which would make it harder to concentrate on the non-sexual aspects of life. Also, according to recent research, a guy would also increase his risk of prostate cancer by avoiding deliberate ejaculation.
Ejaculating for several times in a short period of time can be really dangerous because : 1-You may not be able to reproduce in the future because your genital organs may face some problems for producing sperm.
As far as future fertility is concerned the testicles do gradually "wear out" in the sense that the quality of the sperm they produce declines with increasing age (after a peak at the end of development) but the decline is very slow such that even guys in the sixties and seventies have fathered children and the rate of this decline is unrelated to the frequency of ejaculation. The testicles work at the same rate and produce sperm whether you ejaculate them or not.
It is also true that if you ejaculate frequently then there will be times when you won't have many sperm in reserve so it would be harder to get a girl pregnant than if it has been a few days since your last ejaculation but if you are not at the point of your life when you want to start a family this does not matter one little bit. When you have met a girl you love and have a relationship that will be stable for the long term, maybe including having married, and you want to start a family then of course you would want to make sure you deliver all your sperm into her rather than wasting them but until you reach that time in your life you may as well enjoy the pleasure your body can give.
2-It can make your Genitals very sensitive which can cause troubles for you while you want to have regular sex, which can make you ejaculate sooner than what you have to.(You do not have to forget that your partner needs to enjoy the sexual intercourse too and it is not only you who has sexual desires)
Actually I believe the reverse to be true. It is through learning to delay his orgasm and ejaclation while masturbating that a guys learns how to make himself last longer when he is with a partner.

Most of the masturbating guys whom I've met here until now (by here I mean in my own living area) were some kinda mentally addicted to masturbation and they themselves were confirming it too. Also, they were trying their bests to quit it by engaging themselves in other activities or avoiding the events and scenes which could cause sexual arousal in them.
So I can say that masturbating has a high chance to cause the first kind of addiction which you've mentioned above (by the way thanks for information)

About the first parts I agree with you,but about the last-second part no.Once a guy has ejaculated,he may not be interested in sex for long after that, but only if he doesn't get aroused once again.A male person can get aroused about 3 times an hour in average and each time he can reach an orgasm, which means several ejaculations and so on...
And about the part which you said "masturbating can help a guy concentrate about other things more than just his sexual desires",well I have to say,It's scientifically approved that if you satisfy a desire as soon as it has appeared, you are in fact trying to strengthen that desire, which means very soon you will need to satisfy in once again.
First let me ask you " What can cause sexual arousal? " Of course sexy things right?Well, now I want to ask you " Why should a person get sexually aroused by any first arousing thing which he sees? ".Well, this is what I was saying about avoiding sexually arousing things instead of encountering them and then get aroused.
"Also, according to recent research, a guy would also increase his risk of prostate cancer by avoiding deliberate ejaculation"
Several arousals in a short time would increase the risk not one or two arousals a day.
Once you ejaculate, your Epididymis will be completely empty of sperm and then they will be filled once again. If you are a student of Biology and Experimental Science, you would know that the sperms which are in Epididymis are not completely ready at first,so they first need to complete themselves with help of this organ and so then they will be stored in there. If you try to put pressure on it,the Epididymis will lose its ability to help your sperms completely grow and so they won't be able to do their works properly when it comes to "Reproduction Time".This is why I said you may have reproduction problems in the future.
Actually I believe the reverse to be true. It is through learning to delay his orgasm and ejaclation while masturbating that a guys learns how to make himself last longer when he is with a partner.
Well,it is proved that masturbation can make the head of your penis more sensitive, which can make you ejaculate faster than usual.
Still,I have my own reasons to recommend not to masturbate and you have your own to recommend to masturbate.I'm not saying that your reasons are wrong, but mine are not wrong neither.

If you want to try masturbating for the first time you should wait until everyone is out if you don't want to get caught. As for your foreskin, if you pull back on it does it come back at all? For people with tight foreskins you should use lube this will make it easier to masturbate. If you still can't retract it you need to consult your doctor. I had a similar problem and it hurt when I masturbated, a friend told me to go to a doctor. The doctor will prescribe a topical steroid to loosen it up. Hope this helps

So I can say that masturbating has a high chance to cause the first kind of addiction which you've mentioned above (by the way thanks for information)
You have equated the perception of a lack of control with adiction. Certainly if you tell guys that masturbating is wrong and bad for them and as a consequence they try to avoid doing it they are quite likely to fail to stop, i.e. contintune to do it and they may well cause them some anxiety. Where that differs from an addiction, though, is the the lack of control is caused by testosterone waking up our inate sex drive and not by previous experience of masturbation and the distress is caused not by the masturbation itself which, for most people is both very enjoyable and done in moderation along with the other activities of life, but by the mental state you have created by saying is bad or wrong.
If you told guys that pissing was wrong and they had to stop doing it they would fail to stop doing that either and likely would experience axiety about that failure. But we don't ask them to stop we just ask that they do it only in the right place at the right time.
All I can say is I don't know who you have been talking to but from polls on here and the people I have spoken to in person masturbating between three times a day and three times a week would cover the vast majority of guys. I don't know of anyone who masturbates three times an hour. As I have said before, most guys still find time to do all the important things in life.
My experience, and that of other guys, is that in the refactory period after having ejaculated even things that would otherwise be a turn-on no longer have that effect. It seems the body has a built in mechanism to stop you wasting your time getting aroused and potentially having a sexual encounter when it would be pointless because your glands are empty.
"Also, according to recent research, a guy would also increase his risk of prostate cancer by avoiding deliberate ejaculation"
Several arousals in a short time would increase the risk not one or two arousals a day.
Not according to this summary from the Harvard Medical School (http://www.harvardprostateknowledge.org/does-frequent-ejaculation-help-ward-off-prostate-cancer) which references their own ressearch and a study in Australia. The best frequency for the protective effect seems to be about 0.7 of available days, i.e. ejaculating at least once on seven out of every ten days or more frequently. There was no suggestion that any one cause of ejaculation was any more or less protective than any other but wet dreams would not attain that frequency in most guys and only older guys living with their sexual partners could hope to reach that frequency from having sex, and only for some of them. For most younger guys and some of the older ones masturnation is the key to ejaculating that frequently.
Actually I am not convinced that the Epididymis is completely emptied on every ejaculation any more than any of the other glands are but that doesn't really matter. What does matter is that the effect on fertility is only temporary. When you are ejaculating onto your belly, into a tissue, in the shower or into a condom when having sex it does not matter one little bit how many sperm are in that semen or whether they are any good as they are not going near an egg.
The tempory nature of this is reinforced by the usual requirment from sperm banks, and also from semen analysis to assess fertility, of refraining from ejaculation for three days prior to providing the sample. That means whatever you have done prior to that within three days of wanting it to be, your fertility will as high as it is ever likely to be. If masturbation lead to long term problems with fertility the sperm bank quoted earlier in this thread as a source of information would not be giving out a pro-masturbation message.
It is also worth bearing in mind that the majority of guys do masturbate and within the typical frequency I have already mentioned and the majority of them go on to father children when they want to.
So, if you think there is a long term effect on fertility then please provide reference to a genuine scientific study which supports that conclusion as there seem to be an abundance of evidence to the contrary.
Well,it is proved that masturbation can make the head of your penis more sensitive, which can make you ejaculate faster than usual.
Do you have a reference for that? My own experience was that at the start of puberty when the head of my penis was unused to being exposed it was at its most sensitive and that now it is less sensitive, despite masturbating.
Still,I have my own reasons to recommend not to masturbate and you have your own to recommend to masturbate.I'm not saying that your reasons are wrong, but mine are not wrong neither.
I enjoy a good debate but of course everyone is entitled to his own opinion.
Also,I am some kind of tired of "All about S-X" threads which are in this forum. If you be kind and not continue this debate I will be grateful. This is why I'm coming to VT rarely these days although I need to prepare myself for NUEE too.
Oh dear, I only saw this right at the very end as I was coming to the end of my reply. FWIW it seems to me the central thing about puberty is that it the process by which non-sexual children turn into sexually capable adults with sexual desires. While this particular forum is not for the discussion of sexual techniques how one copes with the transition and the new found sexual desire seems to me to be on topic, though if that subject doesn't interest you, you don't have to ready those threads.
Hey,you seem to be a good person to be friend with,Good Luck!
Thanks. And you.

It's completely up to you. but if you've made it so far, id be tempted to wait and have someone else give you your first orgasm. It's probably either a really good, or really bad idea. just thought it should be considered as an option

I wrote: Actually I am not convinced that the Epididymis is completely emptied on every ejaculation any more than any of the other glands are but that doesn't really matter...
and just by chance I subsequently stubled on this, written by Professor The Lord Winston, Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies, Imperial College London and former Director of the world renown infertility unit at the Hammersmith Hospital in London:
There are numerous myths surrounding conception. Two of the most common are:
if you are having trouble getting pregnant, you should make love less frequently so the sperm have a chance to get strong, more copious and/or more active
pregnancy is not happening because one is not pinpointing the moment of ovulation
I know of no evidence to support either of those statements. There is, however, abundant evidence that frequency of sexual intercourse is directly related to chances of conception, and that the timing of intercourse only needs to be loosely over the fertile part of the month.
Various recent studies have shown the advantages of frequent intercouse and its effects on conception. One, published in 1983, showed that couples having sex once a month between the woman's periods took an average of 43 months to conceive; with sex 3 times a month, the average delay in conception was 15 months; 10 times a month, the average delay was 5 months; and if a couple had sex more than 15 times a month, the average length of time it took to conceive was 3.5 months.
A very good friend of mine - whose name I cannot publish because she would be beseiged for all kinds of advice - had great difficulty getting pregnant a second time. She is a very determined lady. After many months of trying to conceive even though she and her husband tried to time intercourse for the 'fertile period', she finally insisted that her unfortunate partner made love to her at least once every night for a month. She says he was a bit exhausted after this (which, incidentally he denies, though he certainly played less football) but her daughter was born nine months later.
Now clearly Lord Winston is talking here about trying for a baby, not masturbation and he is not claiming that sperm count in any one ejaculation will be as high ejaculating once/day as less frequently, he is saying that keeping an almost constant supply going into the woman is a better strategy than trying to save it up and put it in at exactly the right moment.
You can be pretty sure, though, that he would not advocate an approach that involved frequent ejacuation if that had any long term adverse effect on fertility.

You shouldn't feel pressured to masturbate just because your peers or fellow internet chat-site users do it. There is really no risk to masturbating as long as you don't go all crazy and start doing dumb stuff, but if you're really worried, use lube so that the foreskin will have more 'wiggle room'
Also, they can and some do, but if you're very sexually active then you probably won't see a reason too.
