Do wet dreams always have 'dreams' associated with them?

For some reason, when I have wet dreams, I can't actually remember dreaming about anything sexual. Is this normal?

Quite normal. I've had friends who wake up in the morning, after having had nocturnal emissions overnight, without any sexual dreams associated with them. I've had it at least once myself, where I had an extremely long and exhausting day of hiking and just retired early to bed for rest. No unusual dreams, but awoke from muscular contractions and dampness downstairs. Bit of a pain to get up and change, given how tired I was from the day's activities.

It's normal to forget what you were dreaming upon waking up if it's a wet dream or not.
