Pedophilia

Do you believe that Pedophilia is a crime and any relation to it should be illegal, or simply natural, as in it is a fetish and safe as long as you are not promoting/performing it. It's my opinion that Pedophilia is simply a fetish and it should not be illegal to view videos, comics, or stories involving sexual activities with a child as long as you don't do it. I see it as the exact same thing as viewing rape porn, both are illegal, but rape porn is okay to watch even though it may lead to performing the act. I want to know you guys' opinion on this.

With those things established, I think that as long as attraction to children does not hurt anyone its fine. That means the things they watch can't hurt anyone, the things they do can't hurt anyone, and what they say can't hurt anyone and that is where the problem occurs. Personally I think things like shotacon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shotacon) are fine, but anything beyond that is very hard to regulate. You can't always be sure that it is not going to hurt anyone. Pedophilla is a fetish in my opionon, but it is definitely not socially acceptable. Regardless, as long as you don't do something illegal or hurt children by acting on your pedophilic fetish, you're not going to be arrested.

Child pornography is illegal because there's no way to obtain it legally. Children cannot consent to being in pornography because they're not an adult. Any means of obtaining or sending child pornography should be illegal, including saving it onto a hard drive. Possession should always be 100% illegal, other than law enforcement using it to track its source and to put an end to it.

Fetishes can be considered mental disorders, and pedophilia and hebephilia nearly always fall into that category based on evidence gathered by pedophiles. It's different for teenagers to feel these attractions because their hormone levels are out of wack and their sexual maturity has not developed. Once you pass through puberty, it is very likely that these attractions will go away and you will not feel attracted to sexually immature people. If you do, it is likely that you have some deep psychological problems.
