What was the scariest thing that you ever saw on a kid's show?

I remember when I was little seeing the episode of Rugrats with Angelica's mom having a baby (or so she thinks) and then Angelica has a nightmare about the new baby, with the baby chasing Angelica (getting bigger each time he encounters her), ending with the now-gigantic baby eating Angelica. I remember that I couldn't sleep because of that episode. That giant baby still scares me to this day. (The show was on reruns when I was little. I watched the show until they took the reruns off the air.)

What was yours?

Not a show, but a videogame. The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask was the first game I ever played, when I was five years old. The happy mask salesman scared the fuck out of me.

As a kid, I was afraid of the trees that threw apples in the Wizard of Oz and the antagonist from Thomas the Tank Engine. And those things from Courage the Cowardly Dog.

YOU'RE NOT PERFECT.

Lol seriously, nothing scared me as a kid so I can't say. I was exposed to all the major horror films from a young age thanks to my mum, so I've always been pretty desensitized. I do miss what cartoons used to be able to get away with though, like Courage. I do remember a couple episodes of Goosebumps really got to me, however, namely The Haunted Mask.

Hehe. I used to love him. Courage used to bore me, though. And Him was an eyesore. I've always been kinda desensitized to scary things, cuz I used to watch stuff like Final Destination and One Missed Call my whole life. I still remember the night I watched my first scary movie, Poltergeist. Wasn't that scary. Because of all this, I can't really say that I've ever been scared by any kids' show.

Except Happy Appy. I still have nightmares of that apple chasing me.

This is going to sound really stupid but Dora's backpack scares the fuck out of me. I'm scared of backpacks because I'm afraid it's going to talk to me if I dropped it. I remember the episode of Dora where the backpack strap broke. I was crying for hours.

Oh, geez.. too many. How about the scene in a 1945 Donald Duck episode where Donald thinks he burnt Huey, Dewy and Louie inside their treehouse!? Then, there was the overly dark scene in Brave Little Toaster's song 'Worthless'... How about the clown from the same movie?

Can't think of a specifically scary character but i remember certain episodes of Johnny Quest really scaring me. If we are counting Doctor Who as a children's show (with the latest companions, that's an awful lot like it feels) then the Weeping Angles left me horrified for months. Literally months, i had my mum put mirrors in almost every room as i somehow had the idea if they came for me i cold trick them into looking at themselves...

If you wanted to know the saddest, i remember being totally and utterly unprepared for the Death in Bridge to Terrabithia. That hit me right in the feels.

And that one time when courage started playing with Muriel and Eustace's bodies which was meant to be the last episode of all time.

The scarest show I ever watched when I was a kid was Goosebumps. It gave me nightmares every time lol. Now that I look back at it I always think to myself, how did that scare me? Lol the werewolf one scared me the most. I also remember I went to go see the original Spider-Man in the movie theater and it scared me really bad.
