I have just bought myself a motorcycle!
For a long time now I have needed a mode of transport to call my own. The reason being that I live a 3 hour walk away from all my friends and can't keep asking for lifts everywhere, same with college, can't keep asking for a lift and the bus costs more than it does to run said bike. Anyway, enough explanation, about the bike.

The motorcycle in question is a Yamaha YBR 125cc custom. (Google for an image, I couldnt upload on for some reason?)

Basic specs:
125cc single cylinder engine
Fuel injection
12L (2.65 gallon) tear drop shape fuel tank.
Raised handle bars
Top end of 70mph (about 120kmh)
Cost exactly £1000
90mpg
Custom Cruiser style
Sexy as fu*k

I should take delivery of it sometime next week.
Don't know why but I thought that the internet must know! ;)

Dude I'm sorry but that's the wrong bike, that's a Yamaha YBR, not Yamaha YBR Custom, the custom (one I'm getting) has more of a classic look. If you want to see it make sure you Google "Yamaha YBR Custom"
I think you will fond my bike looks a little better than that my friend... ;)

I'm not fond of custom bikes, I'd be up for a normal YBR myself, but it's still a nice bike with an amazing engine

Don't want to spoil your fun or anything, but are you aware of the limitations of a 125cc?

Obviously I am, you really think I would spend £1000 without looking into it.
Its gonna be slow, lack power, crap on dual caridge ways, have a slightly winey engine and will hate hills. But I don't care because its mine and its freedom.

Basically now we are just finding good bikeing music.
And yep, that's perfect.

Mostly, any half decent 80's rock will do. :what:

In return you get a very reliable engine, very low fuel consumption, and the fact that your tank will be filled for around 15GBP.

I'm not saying it's a bad purchase, just that it's a limited bike, for a very cool price. If you dont trash it / sell it, expect it to hold up to at least 100000km

I bought it in nearly perfect condition and plan to keep it that way, all it needs is a little bit of paint on the exhaust and perhaps a little on the front forks. (I found BBQ paint works great for this because its both weather and heat proof and costs half what proper stuff does and is exactly the same)

Also Yamahas have a god track record for keeping there value so long as I don't come off it I should be able to turn a profit when i sell it in a year considering the same bike in this condition should cost £1300.

Also, the engines in these are superb your right, but there is sometimes a little trouble getting it in and out of neutral. But that's just a thing with these bikes, and for the price I'm not bothered.
