I often feel very moody and sad. I usually have thoughts about whether life is worth it because we die at the end anyway. When I play sports I get mad at every little thing that happens to me and many people say I need to have self confidence but I have none. I usually dwell on past problems but its gotten better with therapy and I really don't care about school as much as I did. Yesterday I even smashed my racquet twice at a tennis match over simply missing a shot. Could any of you help me out or give me some guidance as to what's happening?

I wouldn't know better than a theraphist :P
But... Seeing as I do have a temper that can explode to batshit rage I do know that when I am depressed I have a much harder time controlling my temper and every little thing become irritating.
Not much more to say there is always some kind of underlying problem to stuff.
When you feel good about yourself and life in general being able to ''handle shit'' is a lot easier than when you're just depressed, tired and irritable in general.
I'm not diagnosing you with depression I'm just saying I think something else is bothering you wether consciously or not and the anger is just a sort of cause and effect / side effect

Depression is a funny mental illness because so many people experience some varying level of it. It's probably one of the most common, and almost certainly one of the most undetected of the more common ones because people always shrug it off and say "You're just having a hard time right now" or even worse, when you're a teen "That's just what being a teenager is all about". I absolutely DESPISE that one because it's nearly killed me a few times before. I'm bipolar. Not all teenagers are bipolar. It's LIFE THREATENING to tell someone who is in that bad of a position that "that's just life". I know for a fact that the people who don't understand that are the ones that have never been there.
Anyways, I'm not a doctor, but depression? Definitely a possibility. I'm not saying you should go on meds (Especially on the off chance that they'll make you suicidal or that you're actually bipolar and they'll make you manic. Like me. Thank god we figured that out first.), because most depression honestly isn't enough to warrant it. Antidepressants are usually a last resort because they can SERIOUSLY mess you up. And aside from that, they're not good for teenagers.
You mentioned therapy, why not talk about these problems to your therapist? He can help you more than I can. In fact, therapy is a really good way to help depression. Sometimes talking to someone can be therapeutic enough to dispel some of the negative things you're feeling, and therapy will help you work out more positive ways to cope with the anger and aggression you feel.
Really, the best, and probably only thing you can do is talk to a doctor or therapist. They'll know where to go from there. Good luck. :)

All this describes me. I was depressed before my dog died, but After he passed, my depression nose dived, along with wat life i had. Now, the only thing i think about is the passed, how bad my life sucks, and the point of life. Like u said, we die in the end, anyways. I had had that dog since i was 1, and after. He died, my depressioned deepened, and now all i think about is the latter. Depression is just 1 of life's jokes, its just screwing us over 1 extra time, to make us miserable
