Marilyn Manson, born as Brian Hugh Warner (born 5 January 1969), is an American musician and artist known for his outrageous stage persona and image as the lead singer of the eponymous band. His stage name was formed from the names of actress Marilyn Monroe and convicted murderer Charles Manson. In 1994, they (Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids) released their debut album, Portrait of an American Family under the Nothing Records label. The band began to develop a cult following, which grew larger with the release of Smells Like Children in 1995. That EP yielded the band's first big MTV hit with "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)", a cover of the 1983 Eurythmics hit. Antichrist Superstar was an even greater success. Three of the band's albums have been awarded platinum certification, three more gold, and the band has seen three of its releases debut in the top ten, including two number-one albums.

I've heard some of his songs.. He's not my favorite lol, but my best friend is obsessed with him (and HIM as well :P)... Anyways, don't be afraid to start your own threads lol, you're not going to find threads on everything, and you're better off starting a new thread on a certain topic rather than posting in a topic that relates to what you're looking for but is like 2 years old or something like that.. Yeah.. I have no clue what I just said...

Anyways.. I'm more into underground bands/alternative rock, but I don't mind people like Marilyn Manson. I don't really like rap or country though.. Hmmm...Must... stop... typing... *Bites fingers off* *Owie* :cry:

marilyn manson is so over the top, i despise the guy.
but he does make some good music(or at least his band did...)
got worse gradually with the albums. latest effort is shocking.

I think he's a really misunderstood person. Most people associate his music with things like school shootings and violence, when in reality, it has nothing to do with it.

Yeah I must agree, his latest album "Eat me Drink me" was all together pretty terrible. His old stuff is awesome though!

I disagree, I reckon Heart-Shaped Glasses and Putting Holes In Happiness were pretty alright. Put yeah, the new album is pretty crap compared to most of his old stuff. LOVE his cover of Sweet Dreams, totally awesome.
And that's from someone who only ever really listens to country music. :P

Eat Me Drink Me is just a bit harder to get into, took me almost as long for Mechanical Animals (generally lower work of his)
but If I Was Your Vampire is a pretty good track.

Saw him live in Montreal for the Eat Me, Drink Me tour. Disposable teens, Mobscene and The Reflecting God were all amazing.
