Can't make a social group?

I have 500 posts and should be able to make a group, but can't. All I see at the bottom of the main page is "user search" and "group subscriptions". This isn't just an issue of me not seeing it as I've looked for the new group button thoroughly. I'd upload a screenshot of the page, but apparently there's some sort of photo uploading issue. Any idea why I can't make a group?

According to the FAQ (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/faq.php?faq=rules#faq_content), to make a social group you must have 500 posts and three months here on VT.

I knew it wasn't becase I had over 30 deleted posts that still show up in my post count!
