So, i just turned 15 and am begining to have some annoying acne's (pimples) on my then smooth face.
I've also noticed that when i dont masturbate, the acne clears off for some time and re-appears when i do.
Also, i was very bold and confident in school but i just lost all the boldness and confidence the moment i started masturbating at age 13, I became so nervous especially when giving a speech. Even at home i was very lively but now i stay in my room all day long.
Everyone is just telling me that am changing in school that this wasnt the "old me".
Please i need your candid opinion. WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH ME?? Am getting sick and tired of all these. Is it Masturbation?? And please dont tell me it's normal, nd it's part of growing up stuff.. Cause i have loads of friends at my age nd even older that this is not affecting.. And if its masturbation, i only do it like 2-3 times a week...or Is there a way or technique to completely stop?? Are there negative side effects of masturbating?
Thanks!

There is no way that masturbation is connected to acne. Acne is just apart if being a teenager, your face is extra oily so you have to wash a lot more than before.

The nervousness could just be you feeling shamed about doing it? Other than that, I couldn't say.

I think that there's no connection between masturbation and acne, but about the way you've been feeling recently, more nervous, quiet and shy, that may be related to the guilty feeling you experience after masturbating. It's clearly a sign that you should try to stop, progressively.

It's possible but when you be an adult your acne will go, Don´t leave masturbation, it´s necessary for your normal development also is a safe and healthy way to have fun . Are you a sexually active?

stress can cause acne, and masturbation relieves stress, so.... i think it does quite the opposite !

When you start going through the normal changes, a lot of things start to happen, I’m sure you’ve heard of roid rage right? Your body is pumping a lot of testosterone through you system it affects everyone a little differently, but on top of that self confidence drops to the bottom because you become aware of every little change while others don’t notice it as much as you do. And you typically need a lot more sleep during this time, so if you’re not sleeping that will probably exaggerate everything you are feeling.

One of the other guys mentioned about feeling guilty for masterbation also. That can definitely play a role too, but that is something you need to get past. I suspect that is true in your case because of the things you are saying. I suggest to get into a routine, there are certain times for masterbation but the rest of the time get your mind on other things. What I will tell you about masterbation is that alone there are not really any side effects, but what you are looking at during can affect you so better to keep away from that stuff if you can.
Breaking away is kind of normal for you age also, You start to want to become independent, and this causes a lot of tension usually with your parents, but also for anyone that tries to tell you what to do. It all settles down Man. First thing is first accept who you are, and don’t feel guilty about it. Then start to enjoy life again.

Masturbation has been proven to have no adverse medical effects. Your not going to hurt yourself by masturbating.

Haha that would be understandable if you stayed up quite late to do it instead of going to bed because you know you won't be as motivated to get into bed unless you did it once or twice first but I don't really think it alone will do this. Getting "it" in your eyes will make them red but not cause bags and trust me I KNOW

I beg to differ. Some things may be temporary, but also think about uhh.. I think carpal tunnel. The problem with your wrists. Personally I don't think I have that and if that's what's caused my wrists to hurt BUT my left wrist has been hurt recently and I want to know if CT cream would work before speaking to someone but then I have the problem of possibly getting x-rayed and other things to look for problems and I find that TERRIFYING. I know some temporary pain relief for the wrist but it doesn't feel very nice, got to hold a really wet cold baby wipe over it for a few minutes  As I said above, get it in your eyes and you have a problem - I'm sure it doesn't cause acne though.

stress can cause acne, and masturbation relieves stress, so.... i think it does quite the opposite !

This is what I think too. I'm glad to see someone else say "stress relief", that's probably why I've got into the cycle of doing it SO OFTEN and more recently......

On the contrary. It can really benefit ur health.

Here (http://www.menshealth.com/sex-women/masturbate-every-day), just incase you and anyone else are interested. According to this
A 2003 Australian study found that men who ejaculated more than five times a week were a third less likely to develop prostate cancer. Disease-causing toxins build up in your urogenital tract and when you rub one out, you flush the bad guys out of your system, says Brame.
I am VERY UNLIKELY to get prostate cancer. relief......

And as for the OP...

If you find it a problem how often you do it, maybe you should slow down but you shouldn't stop completely. I wouldn't say to slow down from 3 times a week, I don't know you or emotionally what you're going through but if I only did it that much I wouldn't be able to survive. Acne is normal. It came to me quite quickly too. Maybe that part of puberty occured later for you than it did for me, I think I got acne around 13 and I have a lot less of it now thanks to spot creams but it's still there in small areas and mostly comes back just after a haircut but no other noticeable time...

The only negative I've really seen is it stopping you from sticking to routines and schedules you have set. I never have schedules so for me this isn't a problem. Maybe something else happened in your mind stressed you out, that could be why things with your mind started happening. I don't really see how it could cause you problems like that when it feels so good and you may feel ashamed of it but as is said for stress release, it does sound a lot better than self harm. It's too hard to resist, which is why I have to at least once a day or I can't do things properly, I don't know too much as when I started doing it I became a lot happier and yes I have been shut off in my room a lot more recently but I just like the peace too. It's a good way to get peace while enjoying yourself. I don't know as I've been at it since I was 10, but I never had problems except for I think more frequent boners because I get horny so often and no way to control it because I don't know how long it will take and have vowed to never use a cubicle.

Masturbation causes none of the things that you mention. In the past people made up nonsense to frighten boys out of masturbating and sadly some misguided people still do. A lot of people end up feeling quite moody or lose their confidence for a while when their hormonal levels change suddenly at puberty, because it takes time for your body to get used to it. Also, like many guys you might feel a bit more self-conscious because you're getting taller, or your voice is deeper.

Masturbation is harmless and a good way to discover what you enjoy sexually. Have fun and don't worry.

The only corrolation between the two things is normally when your 15 you have acne and masturbate. That being said if you stop masturbating it will have no affect on acne. Orgasims release dopamine which makes you happy so thats not making you boring. You just getting older.

I had a friend who I think have the same problem. One day he asked me whether I jacked off at all. I asked why. Then he told me he had this acne problem whenever he jacked off. He said I had a clear face, so he wondered whether I jacked off at all or not. I said yes. Then he asked me how often I did, and I told him at least once a week (at that time I didn't feel like saying that I jacked off every day...)

Ever since then his acne problem has never improved. I asked him again whether he still believed acne had to do with jacking off. He said yes. He said he doesn't care anymore because there is no way for him to give up masturbation.

So I guess there could be a link between acne and masturbation, but that happens only to certain people. I can imagine it'd be painful if this ever happened to me.. I wanna jack off every day and I want a clear face too..
