So, what do you think? Should doctors be allowed to assist patients who wish to end their own lives? What about regular people, should they be allowed to assist? What about passive eunathasia? Or pulling the plug on comatose people?
Personally I think it's okay but only with the patients consent and only for people with incurable illnesses who're in a lot of pain. But lethal injections should only be administered by licensed professionals and the final say as to wether or not one qualifies should be left up to the doctor.
I'm against letting comatose people die unless 1 They're completely brain dead, in which case they're just bodies, not people.
2 They give explict consent in a will or other such record.

I don't think suicide is okay in ANY situation. But pulling the plug on brain dead people is not bad at all in my opinion.

People should have 100% their choice in if they want to live or not, but there are many 'terms and conditons' I'd put with that statement and I myself have so many perspectives on this, that only using one doesn't seem fair, so though I originally thought with going with the first option, I am at the very least with the second option, so I'm going with that.

I support euthanasia to be afforded for volunteering individuals in all cases as administrated by a registered doctor through lethal injection. I'm open to panels to process decisions.

I support assisting in the suicide in the cases of all those individuals above eighteen when both written and recorded consent has been submitted to and processed by the relevant government department. However, I'd hope that access to euthanasia would deter such.

I support the rights of families to pull the plug on camatose individuals in the case of 'brain dead-ness' (or whatever) or if written and/or recorded directions, written in the form of a will or other legal document, have been provided dictating otherwise.

I can't tell you how many people would go in and ask for something like that at an extremely unstable time in their life. I'm sure they wouldn't want it once they calmed down. IF something like that were to happen, I'd say the person would need to have regular meetings with that doctor over a certain time period to make sure that that's what they actually wanted.

Right, but nobody's saying hospital should help kill anyone who walks. A panel of professional Doctors would weed out out mentally unstable people and submit then into a ward or get them help instead. It would only be for people with a legitimate medical reason to want to end their life.

I agree with this. I think it's soooo hard to judge what acceptable reasons are for euthanasia. I support the notion that if a person is terminally ill with a disease that will result in severe pain, they should be allowed to choose euthanasia.

But where do we draw the line? I think everyone has the right to life and the right to choose whether they live or die. Hypothetically, it's possible for a physically and mentally healthy person to choose suicide, but I can't see myself supporting that. It's a contradiction and I really don't have a strong enough opinion for either side.

I'm completely okay with removing "life support" from brain-dead patients because they have absolutely no chance of coming back to life. I voted in favor of active euthanasia for patients that are terminally ill and will face extreme pain in their last few months, and I'm also in favor of passive euthanasia. But does that make me pro-suicide? I'm not sure.
