So, I'm not really sure what to say because this is my first time trying to talk about this, but lately I have been having feelings for someone the same gender. I've never had a crush on the same gender before, but I also feel like I haven't had a crush like this before. I feel like I really like this person. Does anyone have any ideas on what I should do? I feel like I should talk to someone, but then again what if it's just a silly thing and I end up embarrassing myself? Please help.

There could be multiple reasons why you are feeling this way. It could always be the cliche response that it is hormones and you are curious. You could also be bisexual or possibly gay, but to determine that it depends on how you feel about the opposite gender. Knowing more about that would help us give you a better response.

More often than not, it's just your hormones being weird but there is still a strong potential that you really could be bi or gay. My advice is to see if they are also going through what you are so that maybe you can figure something out with them.

I've had crushes on opposite gender in the past, but no real relationships with them.

How would I go about asking them?

Don't go up and flat out ask them straight up "you gay?"

What you have to do is hang around them and see if anything they do would suggest that they're gay, bi, etc. You know, like if you catch them looking at other guys or even stereotypical things. You could also possibly ask around if they're gay. Those are just some ideas. I'm not an expert on human sexuality.

I don't see any deference between an opposite gender crush and a same gender crush in your situation. No one knows what to say to a crush. Probably the best thing to do if you want a relationship is starting get to know that person better.
