To me anal isn't experimenting anymore, it's full on sex. Also going too far would be trying to make the other person do something. Like overdoing trying to talk them into it, or playing psyche games on them etc.

There's no too far, just whatever you are comfortable with. You can go all the way, and it may still be experimenting. Experimenting just means you are trying something new to see how you feel about it.
